Re: still no toot paper?

My OH went to Coles on Saturday morning at 7am to get a few items....as he walked in he was offered a 10 pack of Quilton which he declined.   There were 3 pallets and only a staff member could touch it.

He rang me about something else and mentioned the toilet paper so I said to get one.....I am fairly well stocked up but did not expect the shortages to last so long or so severe.   He went back and got a pack and the supply had gone down to 2 pallets....in about 20 minutes.

He finished our shopping and went to a medical appointment.....he came back about 10am to pick up some frozen veges on the way home.....the veges were very low in supply and the toilet paper was GONE.....all in 3 hours.

It seems that if you want to be sure of supplies of anything you need to be waiting for the store to open at 7am.  Thank heavens for Seniors cards.

Re: still no toot paper?

IGA in my town has had no TP, tissues or paper towels for nearly FOUR weeks  ...... Why can some supermarkets get these items while others cant get anything?

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Who's got the clout, and who hasn't?

I think we know the answer to that one    ...... It's a 30km drive each way to our WW, Coles, Aldi   ..... Many of the older folk in my town either dont own a car or cant make that drive, so unless they have someone who can do the shopping for them, they are totally stuck.

I haven't checked the pasta, flour, rice aises, will take a look next time I am in there

IGA here keep ordering these items but they are not arriving

Re: still no toot paper?

I have not been to the big supermarkets since the lock down.

My local 4Square still has loo paper, I think I have enough I still have a couple of large roll 8 packs.

Jacinda was on tonight and said our hard and fast lock down has saved about 3000 people from getting the Virus.

Our lock down may go on for longer if the numbers do not drop.

More people are being tested so numbers going up slightly, mainly Europeons here have the virus, Asian only 8.3 %, Maori's 7.5% Islander's 3.5 %

I have witnessed the shelves being re-stocked at my local Woolworths, with restrictions. They were empty 15 minutes later. And some people are shrewd and crafty. They will buy toilet paper, leave and then return for more - over and over. Sometimes a number of people work together, I have seen it. Fair enough, the non-metropolitan towns are probably struggling more and I hope more is done to balance it out. Bums in need are the same where ever they are.

i made a sugestion earlier in the thread, quick stamp on the back of the hand when going thru the checkout, signalling customer has his or her 1 toot paper for the day.

of course going by todays woolies trip how they would put a stamp on the hand i dont know.

they have gone 'hands off'

you unload your stuff, they scan it, you pack it.

i was fine with that,

until,

the girl began scanning while i was unloading in order to move to the other side to begin packing.

by the time i got to the other end shed scanned 90% of my items and just piled them all over the bag carosel, to the point some fell on the floor!

half a brain would say, hey, wait till the man is ready to bag up before scanning!

rediculous.

Goes to show how we've given up our food sovereignty to major, foreign -owned, retailers.

Back in the day, most ppl could grow their own food, at least.

That's mighty fine of her! But has it saved them from having access to life's essentials?

Oh! Finally someone has the guts to talk about how the virus affects the various races!

Kind of racist, don't you think?
