This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

I shouldn't have cleaned out that back corner.
It was a good idea because it meant I could plant the bottlebrushes, but not so good because now there's a space.
Not quite a gaping hole, more of the kind of space that cries out to be ignored, but somehow your eyes are always drawn back to it.
Two fences meet there, but not at 45 degrees. It's something way less convenient like 37 1/3 degrees.
And don't even think about putting a stick across between the horizontal rails, as a starter for some kind of bridge, because they're not at the same level, either - they're out by about a foot, and a bit.
The corner jumps out and shouts "inconvenience!" at every opportunity.
I've been amusing myself during the day by looking, at a safe distance, after all I don't want to look like I'm committing myself to anything, at the corner, and muttering to myself about it.
Oddly enough it reminds me of going out to nightclubs with my mates, in my early 20's.
We'd spend the entire night standing at the bar, not committing ourselves to anything.
We didn't meet a lot of girls, that way.
It must be something a young bloke does in their 20's, one of those rites of passage, because there was only ever standing room at the bar, ha ha.

Whale watching.
According to the kitchen scales it weighs in at 54 grams, and is about 15 cm long; a little too small and light to be a marionette.
It makes a good toy/ornament, though. The tail and fins are jointed so it can "swim" should the urge take it, a good feature if the whale is being used to tell the little ones a story.
The dots/swirls are not just an artistic flourish, they're the whale's story of itself.
It came from dreams of the whale who said to me "This is how I tell the story of myself - this is how I wish to represent who it is that I am".
I trust that I have done it justice.

I was sure that it would turn out as well as it did, and wouldn't be a fluke, ha ha.

I grabbed a few short planks while I was at the hardware store, earlier in the week.
Working on the principle of needing a half dozen eggs, but getting a dozen just in case, I thought I'd grab two, but ended up taking three.
1.2m each, 3.6m end to end, that's a pretty good length covered.
It is, too, but the space, as I discovered (judging something "by eye" is not a guarantee of anything but a cheerful estimate) is 4.5m long.
Drat and double drat, I say, now I'll have to go back to the hardware store, ha ha.
If it's fine and sunny out your way, today, I hope you're enjoying it, and if it's raining, your gutters are getting cleaned for free, which is much better than getting up there yourself with a bucket and scraper, so it's not all too bad, after all.
