This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic ๐
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out

Usually, ha ha... moving the half dozen or so containers for breakfast out through the back door is easy.
Grab a couple of containers off the floor by the door, pop 'em on the bench outside...
Usually...
But when the old man bird is hovering, expectantly...
With one foot out the door, and him standing on the other side of it, I thought I'd be pretty safe if I said "No" to him, so I turned back inside to grab a couple of bowls...
I turned back, facing outside, and he'd moved forward two steps, and was now wiggling from side to side, looking Very expectant, ha ha.
I told him to wait - "Hang on, I'll be a minute...".
There's the door frame, a gap of about the width of my foot, and then my foot.
I turn back again from inside, with a handful of plasticware, and guess who's decided to walk around my foot, and is now standing in that narrow gap?
Thankfully, I'm holding the holy grail - the tupperware lunchbox with "the right kind of bread" in it... ha ha.
So, I put it down for him - the box is rectangular - pretty much two sandwiches high, two sandwiches long - a good height for a cockatoo to stand next to, and pick pieces from.
Unless you're him - he puts one foot on the side of the box and tips the box over.
Predictably enough, bread goes everywhere, ha ha.
He doesn't see what's wrong with that, as he now has bread spread everywhere, and he can pick out the pieces that he wants.
And we won't mention the bit about having to clean up after him when he gets bored and wanders off to do something else, ha ha.

There's a tree, probably a gum tree, not too close, but not too far away, either.
Close enough for the sound a cockatoo woken abruptly in the small hours of the morning to reach me, clearly.
I think one of the possums got a little too inquisitive... ha ha.
I think the mystery bird that called out in the night might be the same one who was sleeping in the tree outside the kitchen window, in the early morning light...
The old bird who has become a fixture, ha ha.
I got a very brief glance from him before he went back to sleep.
That's good for me - If I don't have to go out in the cold to give him some breakfast, I won't, ha ha.
I know him, he'll be back later...
"Do you want wholemeal bread or multigrain bread?".
Looks at the two pieces of bread...
Picks up the wholemeal bread...
Drops the wholemeal bread...
Picks up the multigrain bread and runs off with it, gleefully.
Question answered, ha ha.
