Yet another old bird...
He's been here for a few days.
He's lost some feathers around his eyes, and he's down to four crest feathers, so he looks a little startled and then comical on top of that when he raises his crest, ha ha.
As long as I'm not behind him, he's fine, otherwise he gets very skittish and turns so that he's facing me.
Something happened to him. Maybe one day he'll tell me about it, maybe one day he won't.
I was putting up a bridge piece, had it set in place, and realised I'd need the clamp to hold it while I fastened it.
The clamp's at the far end of the bench, next to the old cockatoo...
So I went and signed to him - Me... Grab... Object - specifying the clamp.
He thought on that for a moment, then reached for the clamp, ha ha.
That's just what I need... an assistant who weighs less than the tool, ha ha.
He came down and watched me fix the piece in, something I only noticed when I stepped down from the ladder and found him sitting a foot behind me, ha ha.
"I'm watching what you're doing because learning is fun...", ha ha.
Some of them know how to put the "person" in personality, I'll say that for them, ha ha.
