This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic ๐
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

Don't look now...
But I looked, anyway... ha ha.
There were three cockatoos leaning against the screen door...
They weren't damaging it, except for maybe leaving a cockatoo shaped dent in it, ha ha.
I went to open the door and they scurried away, which was good... ha ha.
The thing is, of course, that their scurrying away drew the attention of the birds on the bridges and perches, under the pergola...
Something must be happening... Let's all go there to find out what it is...! ha ha.
I don't know if the correct term is Blanket, or Carpet, but either way... ha ha.
Do you get many birds coming by to eat?
Yeah... about twenty by eight feet... ha ha.
It gets to a point where it's easier to measure how much ground they cover than to try to count them... ha ha.

The rain came, overnight...
Two "weights" of raindrops...
The steady, gentle hiss, and the occasional flurry of heavier drops...
Or is that a possum running across the roof?, ha ha.
Thump, thump... thump, thump... it's hard to say... ha ha.
And it got down to a none too agreeable 9 degrees...
Which does not contrast well with days in the lowish 30's... ha ha.
The dawn chorus let me know that they weren't well pleased...
"Let us in... We'll make you a cuppa... You organise the food...", ha ha.
There are days when it seems like an attractive proposition,
But the thought of three wattlebirds squabbling over who's going to make the electric jug work, let alone how... ha ha.
Meanwhile, the dent in the screen door becomes more pronounced... ha ha.
Every so often there's a little voice from outside - "Are you sure there isn't anything I can come in and help with...?"...
Aren't they considerate?
Now, listen to the subtle undertone in that question...
"Can I come in so I'll be closer to the food and then it's Mine, All Mine! Mwah ha ha ha ha!".
I used to be worried that if they got into the house they'd get confused, and fly around knocking stuff over...
No, it'd be more likely that that I'd find a half open packet of SAO biscuits and a slightly guilty looking cockatoo, sitting on the kitchen floor, ha ha.
Some things, I think, are far better left done without "assistance", as there's less cleaning up to do, afterwards...ha ha.
As it is those wattlebirds still haven't worked out how the jug works...
I'll be here until this evening before I get a cup of tea, at this rate, ha ha.

She who hesitates is left looking at where the bread used to be...
I put three pieces of bread down for the little girl magpie...
She looked at them, for just a little too long...
Out of nowhere, a wattlebird swooped down, swept up the lot and took off...
She looked at me and said "Life can be disappointing..."...
I said "You're right... Imagine how disappointed that wattlebird would be if it knew I had all this other bread...", ha ha.
Is it possible for a little magpie's eyes to light up? ha ha.
I think I went some part of the way to making someone happy, today, ha ha.
She was having a drink on the bird bath, Miss bold, independent young magpie, when Mother joined her...
She turned into "Waah... waah... waah..." baby magpie, not that Mother paid her any attention... ha ha.
Well, if she doesn't try, she doesn't know if she can get someone else to do the hard work as far as providing food goes... ha ha.
