The scruffy "patchwork quilt" old man bird who's known me for a few weeks is still not entirely sure that he likes me... ha ha.
He's missing feathers, here and there, and really does look like a patchwork quilt, ha ha.
He's on the ground, not too far from me, liking me because I've given him some bread...
But keeping his distance, all the same... ha ha.
I'm sitting on the bench, and a bird flies in, under the pergola, straight over me, and up onto one of the rails....
No, I'm not in the way... ha ha.
And me? I barely noticed it fly over...
The old man saw this happen, and you could see it tick over in his mind...
Bird flew over...
Bird was fine with that...
And He sat there and didn't even blink...
Okay, I shall feel confident enough to move a whole step and a half closer to you... ha ha.
I'd be happy with him being comfortable enough around me so that his first instinct isn't to run at the sight of me...
When it comes to friendly, I've already got one cockatoo who sits on the bench armrest, right next to me, and gives me the "You know which food I mean..." look, ha ha.
In the end, if he feels safe, if he's happy, then that's what matters.
