Jelly is gelatin, put through a blender and then into a children's wading pool.
Who it is that then pays their $ for the "fun" of wrestling in it is up to them, but it's generally an amusing spectacle.
Jelly is also a term for a contraceptive material, which may not go well on a sandwich... erk!
And of course jelly is the abbreviation for gelignite, and that wouldn't taste good, either...
In my opinion, in the last two instances, if you did put it on a sandwich, you'd definitely be in a jam... ha ha.
