The original old man bird suddenly picked up and took off mid afternoon, having spent the better part of the morning sleeping, and occasionally eating... ha ha.
He headed for the thick and leafy tree next door...
It seemed a bit strange to me that he'd gone there but there was a reason, as it turned out...
A couple of hours later down came the nice cold rain... nice... cold... I hope they're enjoying it down in the alps, where it's no doubt falling as snow... ha ha.
And a couple of hours after that, coincidentally as I was putting out breakfast for the possums, who should appear?
"Is it too late for food?"... ha ha.
Old man, if I had the setup I'd have you stay in for the night, even though it'd mean an early start for me to let you out so that you could be wild and free, in the morning.
And I'd have to put up with the grumbling that you couldn't see the TV, and "Can't we watch the comedy channel? ...Just one more show...? ...Go on... it's only a bit past midnight... (And is there anything to eat...?)", ha ha.
He's a funny old thing...
He's having something to eat on the pergola bridge, not too far from the Old possum house and Babs, because no one else would dare stay in that house, ha ha, lets loose with a belch that very nearly rattled the nearby windows, ha ha.
He looked up, looked in the direction of the house and went back to eating... ha ha.
It pains me to suggest using the term "unflappable" even as a pun, but it's tempting in the circumstances... ha ha.
