This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic ๐
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

I thought rather than following you to the shops I'd hitch a ride with you... ha ha.

It just occurred to me..
It started raining about 2 this morning...
That's not the most convenient of hours, if you think about it...
At that hour of the morning, even with the street lights, it's still pretty dark and how am I going to enjoy racing folded paper sailboats down the gutters, that run along the side of the street...? ha ha..

Wet cockatoos shake themselves the same way wet dogs do...
It means that this evening, I got showered with wet cockatoo scented water droplets... ha ha.
Somehow I can't see the big fragrance houses beating a path to my door, for a sample, ha ha.

It's a bit like going to the shops to get a litre of milk, and finding all they have is 3 litre bottles - good, but maybe a bit more than I wanted... ha ha.
Rain... then heavy rain... then a brief break before the hail, and more rain... ha ha.
I'm not complaining, we need the rain... Perhaps in slightly less volume, and spread over a longer time, ha ha.
I heard what sounded like a branch breaking in the small hours, so I put it on my "It's too dark to deal with now, so I'll look into it in the morning" list...
That brief break in the rain seemed like a perfect opportunity for a wander round the garden...
It turned out to be a smallish branch from the gum tree, nothing to be concerned about, I could probably even strip it back and make it into a perch for the birds... the branch, not the tree, it's doing fine, as perches go, ha ha.
Then I took a look across the driveway...
There's a wattle tree that starts as a stump, and splits into two trunks...
Splits is the word I'm looking for... ha ha.
Over time, water and borers have got in and weakened it, and all it took was a decent fall of rain and over it went...
Now, I've got half a tree lying across the driveway...
I can see I'll have to make use of a toothy saw and possibly a copious amount of swearing, ha ha.
They say when it rains, it pours... well, maybe not, sometimes it's just light drizzle, but I get where they're coming from... ha ha.

Right... I said... I'll cut this branch, then that branch, then I can get close enough to get a look at, if not actually remove, intact, that cicada grub skin that's joined to that cicada shell that's sitting there on the tree...
It's a bit unusual... it's a sort of amber yellow and catches the light well...
There's something to put in an old Vegemite jar, and how convenient is that? I just washed one a couple of days ago... ha ha.
And then the rain came down... none of this miserly pinprick rain, oh no... ha ha.
Down came big, fat raindrops, the kind that leave you wondering if it'll leave bruises.... ha ha.
I decided that all I cared about at that moment was getting under cover as the sky was beginning to open up in many different and interesting ways... ha ha.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow... except the weather man says it'll be much like today, ha ha.
