the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic ๐Ÿ™‚

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

I saw the live camera of the falcons from Collins st. Nice story.

I just donated to Hope for paws. Even though it's US, they do a lot it seems.

Yes, nice video Kopes, but don't we have enough animals here that need help?

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

The local sparrow hawk drops by from time to time, and reduces the local sparrow population...

He's not shy about sitting in a tree and saying "I caught it, I'm going to eat it...", ha ha...

A pigeon died in the garden a couple of days ago...

The currawongs took great delight in plucking it's breast feathers...

I hadn't thought that there would were so many feathers on such a relatively small bird - it resembled an old fashioned pillow fight writ large, ha ha.

Long story short, I gave them a bit of a hand - a reasonable length incision in the right place was only going to make their task simpler...

It didn't stop them from continuing to strew the garden with fine, downy feathers, though, ha ha.

If any of that seemed at all "icky", I'm sorry.

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

Father magpie turned up in the afternoon and calmly strode around the garden...

He ate some bread, here and there... I noticed that he didn't pick up a beakful of large chunks, and fly off with them.

I thought that it's going to be a quiet year if there's no little beak to feed...

Think again... ha ha...

About half an hour after he left I could hear the insistent cries of a baby magpie coming from across the road...

Quiet? Did I say quiet...? ha ha...

I can see a Summer ahead where I won't be able to venture into the front garden with at least one slice of bread (again), ha ha...

A bit earlier on a female Little Corella dropped by...

Little's a good word to start with... she'd be half the size of a cockatoo.

Don't let that fool you for a moment, she can hold her own in the squabbling stakes, ha ha.

There's no where near as many birds where I'm staying in Ballarat
Often hear Rosellas
See Magpies
And Galahs
Saw a pair of Brolga in the paddock today while on the Coach
The Brolga are known for being a Northern Territory bird but they winter in Victoria
And a lot of ducks

that's interesting, I never knew that.  Odd that they would go from our cool weather to your much, much colder weather then come back to our sweltering humid wet season.  Could be looking for water I guess๐Ÿง
