This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out
Of the conversation

I bet you could get it finished in a hundredth of that time, ha ha...
🙂
Answer - just checked the box - no age or time limit. LOL
But - oh boy - a lot of white & heaps of pale blue - a nightmare.
Will give progression updates.
I will need the dining table sometime.

It's one of the pieces of furniture that my parents owned, that I miss.
A dining table that had two panels that could be inserted into it.
It could go from a comfortable four, maybe five seater to aircraft carrier landing deck size, in a matter of a few minutes, ha ha...
It was absolutely brilliant for doing jigsaws on.

The pizza place... The Polish pizza place...
It was in basement, so that meant six steps down from street level, and into a narrow doorway just to get in...
Imagine, then, juggling a large pizza in a box, how hard it was to get out, again...
It was a rectangular room, the kitchen and service counter at one end, and the rest of the space filled with diner style tables and bench seats jutting out from the walls.
The walls... They were covered with neon strips, tubes of different shapes, sizes and colours, and had fish tanks set into them.
You can always tell the tone of a restaurant by the variety of fish they keep - in this instance, they were piranha, ha ha...
It gets better... the ahem, background music was German Punk... Loud, of course, ha ha...
The fun, I must admit, began with ordering...
He didn't speak English, and I didn't speak Polish...
This can only get awkward... ha ha...
Using the "Handy phrases for travellers" chapter in my well thumbed Lonely Planet guide book, I launched into an attempt to order a pizza...
I might as well have been ordering spare parts for the Apollo moon landing...
It was, to say the least, excruciating... ha ha...
The book kept being passed backwards and forwards across the counter as we struggled to cobble together even the most simple of sentences... ha ha...
We did well to establish that I wanted a large pizza, but the subject of toppings floored us both...
So I ended up buying a "Fruit salad" pizza from the sign above the counter.
It sounded good at the time, ha ha...
I can't tell you the entire range of toppings, but I do recall there were tinned half apricots, and kiwi fruit slices featured large on it, too, ha ha...
And it wasn't at all bad...
I've eaten some strange pizzas over the years, and often enough suffered the queasy consequences the next day, but the fruit salad pizza was great.
And it probably staved off scurvy for another day, such is the varied and variable diet of the wandering backpacker, ha ha.

I've heard that travel broadens the mind.
I beg to differ.
I know of many narrow minded folk who take their annual holidays overseas, only to return to these shores no less intolerant than they were when they left, ha ha...

For this you will need some beer.
And a beer glass, because a champagne would be a silly choice, ha ha...
And you'll need just a dash of raspberry cordial.
Pour the beer into the glass so there's a nice head of foam.
Add the "Just a dash" of raspberry cordial....
The beer turns red while the foam stays white...
White over red... How much more Polish can you get? ha ha...

Cleared the dining table - emptied the box - purchased in 2013 - on a visit to Hearst Castle - not exactly sure why.
1000 pieces to have a go at as you pass.
Hum along - it's only just begun..............................................
Dom, daughter and I used to do jigsaws all the time.
What you need is a puzzle mat to store it til next time

I think I'll go to the supermarket tomorrow, and stand there and silently weep inside, as I stare at row upon row of still empty shelves.
I don't know what to say, beyond that.
We will get through this, even though our ranks will thin, of that I have absolutely no doubt.
But I think the residual resentment will run deep.
