the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

This is a thread with no particular

Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂

So if anyone out there has something

To say about anything you like now

Is your chance

Keep it clean

And be nice

See how long that lasts

Can we keep politics and religion out

Of the conversation

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

As the weather man promised, it "rained" here - lightly sprinkled, perhaps is a better way of putting it, ha ha...

There was just enough to get the ground damp, but grounds enough for three old man cockatoos to seek the shelter of the pergola.

And they did such a good job of looking utterly miserable, too, huddled there, out of the weather, and with a direct line of sight to the back door, ha ha...

It was one of the warmest mornings we've had this month, but that didn't stop them from playing the sympathy card for all it was worth, ha ha...

Ecar, it seems it's not just the birds with problems.

The possums are also giving people grief.

I make a very firm point of not touching the possums, they might "seem" cute and cuddly, but having been on the receiving end of one when it thought my hand was a little too close....

Metaphorically, once bitten, or in my case, scratched, twice shy... ha ha...

Possums, in my book, are a lot like people - if you don't need to have unnecessary physical contact with them, don't...

It's a simple enough rule of thumb, ha ha...

I haven't quite got to the point of taking precautions a step too far, yet... ha ha...

Nowdays my idea of risky behaviour is getting into the shower before I turn the water on, ha ha...

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

I walked into Bunnings, today, and on my left, at one end of the building is aisle 1...

To my right, at the far end, is aisle 30....

I'm looking for aisle 60....

Now, logic would dictate that I walk to the far end of the building, to my right, and then head to the back of the building to reach the second stack of shelves...

1 to 30, the first stack, 31 to 60 the second stack...

Logical enough...

One might think, ha ha....

But no... aisle 60 is at the left hand end of the second stack of shelves...

Now, I'm ahead off the game... I was there last week, looking at taps...

This week, it's washers... I like to pace myself with these things, ha ha....

So I knew that aisle 60 wasn't where aisle 60 might well have been assumed to have been...

Although if I'd gone there I could have picked up some solar garden lights at very reasonable prices... ha ha...

I've no idea who it was that thought up that layout, but I kind of admire their perverse sense of humour, ha ha...

I got the washers, no worries there, so all I have to do now is remember that turning the tap spindle, with a spanner, Anti Clockwise will release it, otherwise I'll waste half an hour wrestling with it, and wondering why I''m getting nowhere... ha ha...

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

That rain hasn't turned up, again.

It's overcast and bleary and cold, and my shoulder's playing up again...

It goes for a while without so much as a whimper, so I forget about it, only to remind myself that it has it's limits...

So, Ouch...again. I'm taking aspirin this time round...

I'm taking a break from panadols at the moment - too much of a good thing... everything in moderation, and all that... ha ha...

I had a passing thought that I should sling a hammock up, out under the pergola, so I could have a bit of a nap in the afternoon.

If nothing else it'll ensure that the birds wake me up for feeding time, ha ha...

That is, if the sparrows would let me have a moment's peace, ha ha...

They produce a fair volume of noise for such small birds...

Oh well, the joys of it all.

Keep smiling, it could be worse, ha ha...

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

I'm so used to reading text from left to right, that I tend to apply the same reasoning to looking at pictures...

At first glance I thought this was a picture of baby dinosaurs crossing a path... ha ha...

I think they're some kind of lemurs, crossing from right of frame to left...

It had me amused, though... ha ha...

I must remember, next time I'm in the vicinity of an Autopro or Repco, to stop in and get some more blinker fluid...

This one's down to half full...

Re: the nothing ,anything ,everything thread

Be careful of taking too much asprin ecar.....it can upset you stomach much quicker than panadol.

If you use a lot of Panadol it may be to your advantage to look at Panamax....it has the same ingredient (paracetamol) but is about a quarter the price of Panadol.

I get it at The Chemist Warehouse for $2.49 for 100 tablets....69c on special.

I was thinking the same thing, Ecar.

Aspirin is a blood thinner - too much is a bad thing.

If going in for an operation, they want you to stop taking aspirin 7 days beforehand.

I take a cardiac aspirin for angina.
