This is a thread with no particular
Topic so no one can be off topic 🙂
So if anyone out there has something
To say about anything you like now
Is your chance
Keep it clean
And be nice
See how long that lasts
Can we keep politics and religion out

I had to clear up a fallen wattle tree, today.
It was no surprise that it had fallen over, the tell tale pile of "sawdust" around the base of the trunk gave it away...
And inside, were the culprits themselves - big, fat cream coloured grubs...
I'm glad I decided to take a few photos when I did, because once the currawongs caught sight of the grubs, they were Gone, quick smart! ha ha...
I'll have to devote some time to reading up on these grubs...
They're the larvae of What, in particular?
Do they only target certain varieties of wattle?
What's the local Indigenous name for them?
I won't ask if they're edible, or not, the currawongs beat me to it, ha ha...
Think local, act local, be useful in your own community.
That is not to say that adopting an insular attitude is ideal, it isn't, but wasting your time worrying about things you can't change, isn't, either.

Wood eating grubs? Wattles in particular?
I think they all come under the umbrella of Witchetty Grubs don't they?
These grubs live in trees. They can also be found in black wattle trees, and are attributed as the reason why wattles die within 10 to 15 years. The roots of the Acacia kempeana shrub are another source of the grubs.

I'll run with Witchetty / Witjuti grubs as a good "umbrella term".
It's like "Beer", whether it's XXXX or Heineken, if you say "Beer", people get where you're coming from, ha ha...
Apparently they're good bait for trout.
Good, too, eaten either raw or lightly, marshmallow over a campfire style, toasted...

Supply and Demand are keeping up with each other, at least as of yesterday, Dom.
Except for Aldi, who had sold out of sardines in springwater, ha ha...
There's an abundance of everything, which makes it harder to read the news out of Victoria where, despite the Premier's urgings, people have succumbed to the urge to "stock up" a little...
Things remain quiet, here, for now...

Snap - things pretty quiet here also.
