And we can only hope that the LNP will change their minds, will listen to reason and implement the NBN.

and for those who do not understand how much difference it would make, and are unsure about the bits and bytes, and the difference between FTTP and FTTN

Birdie you are missing the point, so I will reiterate.
If just one of the links is limited to 1Mbps it would not help if yo had a 1 Terabit bit per second Internet connection, you would have your data served up ai 1Mbps.
The route was just a graphic illustration of the signal paths over the internet

Jeth, you may doubt anything you so desire.
My observations are based on solid fact.
Oh and credible people are only credible as long as you believe them 🙂
Please define archaic notions 🙂
Is a notion archaic if your opinion differs from it??

poddster - if the NBN service was available in your area soon, would you sign up for it?

i'm not allowed to reply, and it seems you were wise enough not to quote the removed post. is that insight or luck ?

Jeth causing posts to be removed are not my style as you would know if you have been around a while.
I have learned to be very cautious in quoting other posters.
I have also observed over many years that reported posts are not always attributable to the most obvious.
There are several groups on thei forum who report posts for sport to try to pit posters against each other and just sit back and get some morbid pleasure out of the fuse that they have created.
I am pretty certain that the moderators are fully aware of those antics and if they are not then they should be.
If you have been unjustly moderated bring it to the mods attention, i do, everytime. if everyone does that then those groups may be shut down 🙂

I have always only used Internet that was adequate for my needs. and even though I am in the computer industry FTTN more than satisfies my needs and FTTN by far surpassed the needs of an average Internet user

Does that mean you won't subscribe to the NBN if it was available? Was it you that posted previously, you don't watch a lot of
you tube clip links on the forum because of your current broadband service (too slow?)
on 17-09-2013 07:41 PM
Its not that it is slow it is that if i watch utube my data allocation runs out and I get cut back to dialup speed.
The speed is fine even for HD video. 🙂

if the service was comparable in price to what i have now I would concider it but if it wasn not then I wouldnt subscribe.

That is the problem we have also, not many GB's for a high cost. We had the NBN service for 12 mths until we moved. The NBN is not quite finished were we are now, a few km's from the test area we lived in. I was hoping it would have been finished while Labor was in still in power.
For the NBN service we had the cost was lower and many more GB's than the ADSL (not ADSL2, not available) service we had previously.
