what the hecks going on with blood tests?
so i have type 2 diabetes and get sent to have blood tests then a week later have a 'review' with a nurse and my doctor.
no problem there
but recently these tests, well not the acctual test, but the time i am forced to sit in a waiting area is just rediculous
my test takes about 5 minutes from the time im called to where im out the door heading home
last time i was waiting about an hour and a half, the longest id ever waited
today i waited an hour and a half and only 3 people were actually tested and left!
when i arrieved i took a number, 15
the first person called after i arrived was 7
they had reached 10 when i got angry and left!
an hour and a half to take blood from 3 people!
you have to be kidding!
btw, remember i was fasting, no food since last night!
and diabetic!!

Well best to get rid of Fluoride as it is dangerous to the kidneys of diabetics as well as disrupts our endocrine system. Lowers our immunity as well
Pre-diabetic, Type 1 or Type 2, just get Fluoride out of the water!! Reverse Osmosis filter will do the job. Or buy Fluoride free water.

Steam distillation works as well r-o filters waste a lot of water , but i suppose if piped out to the garden
Steam distillation is better than nothing. Better to have fluoride-free water in your body than water with fluoride. Distillation requiress energy ajnd RO is a bit wasteful. It is sickening though that we have to go to this extra effort and cost just to take charge of our health. I can't remember the name of the Liberal Party member who said that fluoride was a neuro-tooxin. Chap in NSW I think. There was a Labour lady some time back who was opposed to fluoride as well. We need true people who care.

Yep, get rid of the fluoride in the water and see how long before your teeth start rotting and falling out.
I am Type 2 Diabetic and have been since 2009....late onset diabetes runs in the females in my family.
When I was a kid there was no fluoride in the water in Sydney but my dental care included having my teeth painted with fluoride at my twice yearly checkups. I had excellent teeth and by the time I reached my 20s the fluoride was in the water supply and my teeth remained better then average.
In 2010 when the Desalination Plant was turned on I found the resulting water in our taps was horrible so turned to bottled water for drinking on a daily basis.
My teeth soon showed the lack of fluoride.....they deteriorated very quickly. I now have to pay a small fortune for special highly fluoridated toothpaste.
It is much cheaper and more effective to accept fluoridated water than to remedy the effects of not using it.

I remember getting fluoride treatments as a child, as well.
A few years ago, my dentist retired and I had to find a new one. I recalled to him the fluoride treatments of my youth, and asked if that was a service that he still provides today. He looked a bit surprised and told me that usually only children are given these treatments... however, now when we go to get our teeth cleaned, his assistants always ask, "would you like to have a fluoride treatment today?". I guess that he found an easy way to improve the bottom line.

the slowness at todays test was nothing to do with pathology or corono virus
they dont do that at the hospital its at another location
set up seperate to keep any possible infections away from the hospital
btw, there is no positive people anywhere near here at this time
and i was the only one wearing a mask today!
From what i can gather, your gripe is not with the speed taken to get results back from your blood test, it is to do with the waiting time to get the test done in the first place.
Hospitals are often slow in outpatients etc. I don't know why exactly, but they just seem to be.
I was going to suggest another place. When we have to have blood tests of any sort, we go to the pathologist rooms behind our doctor's surgery. A doctor can tick the forms to request bulk billing, so these places don't necessarily cost any more than getting it done in a hospital.
I find at our local pathologist's rooms (which admittedly are small) the waiting time is usually only about 5 to 10 mins max. If you go in early morning (about 9am), often there are no others there so that's a good time.

First of all, fluoride is mass medication and it's an infringement on the the rights of human being to force something on them. With chlorine, it's added to the water to treat the water. With fluoride, it's added to the water to treat us. A doctor can't even do that. He can't force medicate someone and yet the gov't does. That's wrong!
I've heard a few times people saying .... "I grew up here in Melbourne and my teeth are fine but my sister grew up in Queensland and her teeth are awful" and similar. I personally know people who have grown up in areas where fluoride was added to the water and some of them have horrible teeth. And I know people who have grown up in areas and come from countries where there is no fluoride and their teeth a spectacular!
If there was any benefit from this chemical (from the aluminium & fertilizer ind's) , it would only be topical. It just kills the dental caries bacteria that causes tooth decay. So any benefit (if there is such a thing) would be when the fluoridated water comes in contact with our teeth. How many seconds is that? Then the chemical goes in to our system and gets absorbed where the is no benefit at all! Quite the opposite actually!

I'm not saying that this is what happened to you lyndal1838 but I have heard that diabetics have teeth problem. One woman in her 60s has to put something on her teeth / gums because of what diabetes has done to her gum.
Dumping this harmful chemical in our water supply for a perceived benefit (killing dental caries contact) is almost like drinking sun block cream to avoid skin cancer.

I could've sworn this thread was about blood tests and the time taken to get one done.

It is still on the topic. As you can see david4430 is diabetic and that's part of the leading post as well. This is also in relation to that.

And another member here below has given some helpfu info that diabetes can in some cases be reversable.

I also had type 2. Did you know that it's reversible if you lose enough weight? I lost 50 lbs by going low carb. No more medicine or blood tests for me!
I've also added some input about what medical professionals have been saying about the effects of fluoride on the kidneys of diabeticcs.

LOL - I don't have diabetes - but did the figures - if I lost 50 lbs - I would weigh 66 pounds ie - 30 kilos.
