My niece is still fighting/hanging on.
They are reducing the sedation at 10 minutes to the hour to check some neurological responses/tests and then sedating her again and putting her back to sleep.
They have discovered now that she has a staf infection but they are keeping it under control with antibiotics.
I hope I have some really good news for when you come back from your holiday Peela. B-)

been raining here ... but steamy as anything ... the rain doesnt clear the humidity unfortunately ๐ ....
bought some beautiful bras for my missy today ... in fact bought 10 bras LOL .... they are all gorgeous with lots of lace and diamonties on them .... you would pay a fortune in australia ...but up here the most I paid for one pair was 100bht .... which equates to A$3.33 ..... the cheapest pair was 39bht which is just over A$1 ... unbelievable ... my mother also bought some for my niece who is 19 ... she will love them ๐

evening from downtown Bangkok ... got here this arvo ... havent done much ...went for a wash and blow dry this arvo at the hairdressers ... would you believe for a fabulous shampoo ...with a scalp massage and a blow dry it ended up costing me 120bht = to $4.00 ..... how cheap is that ... and they put some product into the hair so it wouldnt all fly away .... awesome ... โฅ

Oh Braff, I have just scrolled back to see what is happening to your niece, I am so very sorry that she is going through that, how awful for her and the family.

Doing lots of shopping?
I have a wonderful update for you on Alicia.
It has been a very busy time for Alicia. Over the last 3 or so days she has come along in leaps and bounds.
I will cut to the chase and leave out the lead up steps forward.
She now has the mouth tube removed. She can't eat or talk yet but is having physio and speech pathology. The brain drain is out and I believe that she still has nose prongs in with the oxygen.
The Doctors are thrilled with her progress and hopefully she will be transferred out of Intensive Care during the week. There is still a very long road ahead, but it would seem as if the major hurdles have been jumped.
Thank you everyone for your support. It has been 3 weeks tomorrow since it happened.

ooh braff Im so glad alicia is doing well ... dont worry she will be up and around by herself in quick time now ... such wonderful news for you and the family :-x
my youngest sister had an accident when she was 15 ....had a brain haemorrage ... had side of her skull removed ... to allow the brain to swell properly then recede .... she then had physio ... and the doctors couldnt believe how quickly she got well ,...they reckon a lot of it had to do with the family support she got ... she is now a mother to 3 beautiful teenagers/ young adults ...and coincidentally is in ph -uket with her husband on a holiday together for the first time ... LOL ....
so Im hoping alicia uses the love from your family and it will push her quickly forward in her recovery process โฅ
not too much shopping done ... but some ... got one more week to get the most out of it ... this time next week I will be back home in australia .... holiday all over with ๐ฎ

Peela, I hope everything is going well for you and that you settle back in Australia ok after having a nice holiday.
It has been a while since I have been in here. I just haven't been on the computer all that much.
Alicia is improving. She has been moved out of ICU and is not eating very much and often feels sick in the stomach, but apparently her brain is OK so that is a great thing.

back home ... got in this arvo at about 4pm ..... then home to mums ... pick up the car and then home ... unpack ... give missy all her pressies ...then start washing LOL .... one load out and the other in the machine .... sheesh .... hectic to say the least !
glad alicia is well on the way to recovery ... and Im so pleased there is no brain damage ... that is awesome news โฅ
