I bet your Missy is wondering why she never tried for her licence earlier. I know I did, and I was only 19 when I went for it.
We had a stinker of a day here yesterday but today has been overcast and we had a little bit of rain.
My Missy missed out on the other job that I thought she had a good shot at, so currently there is nothing in the offering. 😞
It is good to know that your work is valued Peela. It is all dollars in your pocket although having some time off would have been nice.
Are you doing anything special for Christmas?
I am going to my brother and sister in laws place. She is a natural entertainer. She does the whole thing. Full hot meal, bon bons etc. She also has the space for a large crowd. 20+

sorry to hear your daughter missed out on the job .,.... has she thought of trying some relief work in child care centres .... just until she can find something she wants to do ... she has her cert 3 so should have no restrictions on working ..... tell her to hand her resume around the centres ... they are sure to need her some time .... as I said ... I work full time ... and have always been relief ... even with my cert 3 I was fully booked ...... at least she would have some work and money to use ....
I completed my refresher first aid course yesterday ... had to take the day off work (didnt take a booking) .... so now Im good for another 3 years ..... I did the full course (2 days) 3 yrs ago .... so technically you can get 6yrs out of it .... providing you do the refresher in the interim ......
I also recently did the asthma/ anaphalaxis course also ...as more children are prone to asthma and allergies to things .... so Im all up to date with all my certificates LOL ..... phew! safe for another 3 years LOL ...
we usually have lunch with mum on xmas day ... then we take her to one of my sisters places .... they have much bigger houses than I do .... and we all contribute to the meal .... makes it a lot less stressful on the home owner to provide it all ... its the way its been done for years .... we used to have lunches with spouses families at lunch and then to mum & dads for dinner ... but we decided they had done it enough so took it off them and then they just had to relax and enjoy themselves .... I always picked them up .... so no driving involved for them .... and I dont drink anyway so was no bother .... when my dad passed away it was easy to take missy and spend lunch with mum before heading off to dinner ....
I cant say to missy about her wishing she got it earlier ...as she gets rather miffy about it .... LOL ..... so of couse I mention it often ]:) ......Im so evil .... :^O

was on earlies last week .... 9am this week .... so thats ok .... dont have to shop for any pressies ... I give the 2 kids I buy for money ...as they are 16 going 17 .... have no clue what they like and everything is wayyy too expensive for me to buy so I give them money to put towards a bigger item that they may want ...

Sorry I have been MIA. My Uncle passed away (Mums brother) so during the week I went to Northern NSW to attend the funeral. I was away 3 days. His wife passed away 4 months ago but I was not able to attend her funeral because I was in/returning from Alice Springs. No way was I missing this one.
There is only one sister left now of Mum's family plus her husband. They live in the same town where I have just been. 😞 Dad's one and only sister is still alive and lives in Melbourne.
Missy has missed out on the jobs she has applied for although she went for another interview while I was away and I think she has another interview lined up.
I spent the evening wrapping parcels the other night. I really detest odd shape boxes/gifts. So hard to wrap.
I have a couple of things to arrive from ebay and something to buy from the shopping centre and then hopefully I will be finished.
I posted off a parcel to country rellies yesterday.
We are going well. MrBraff had a cancer removed from his leg and I have counted between 32 and 38 stitches. He gets them out on Wednesday so I will ask the nurse removing them just how many there actually are.
I hate it when the poot goes into meltdown, especially when you have something there ready to post and then poof away it goes.
Have you been receiving gifts at all from the kidlets that you look after or because you are not a regular you get left out?

Here we are at the weekend again.
Missy went for another interview this afternoon. Office work. She felt OK but I won't hold my breath. She is now looking locally. Moving to the Central Coast seems to be off the agenda.
I am off to ride on Thomas the Tank Engine tomorrow 🙂

sorry to hear about your aunt .... tis always hard when the family whittles down as we all get older 😞
sorry to also hear of mr braffs leg .... crikey thats a lot of stitches ...but Im sure they got the whole lot - as they do these days and all the better too .... hope he feels better and it heals quickly !
gee poor missy is having a bad time in the job market ... fingers crossed she finds something soon ... so that she doesnt get too deflated ...
the parents do bring in gifts for the staff .... the rule of the centre Im at is .... if its addressed specifically to you then you get to keep it ... but if its addressed to the room ....as in 'toddlers staff' then it goes into the office and the staff all get to choose one after we have our christmas lunch ... a fair system really ... means if you dont get any gifts you at least have a chance of getting something ...
luckily I dont have to shop - as only kids are 16 going 17 ... so I give them money ... so much easier .... then they can put it towards more expensive items that they want 😉
Im working on monday ... but have the rest of the week off ... well technically only thur & fri LOL .... but its a lot for me ... considering I work every day ... but the numbers are down as everyone goes away or keeps the kids home with their older siblings ... so no need for extra staff but like I said Im ok with a couple of days off ... 😉

not working for thur & fri of this week ...... not too many kids at work ... but working all next week ....
mind you I didnt mine having a couple of days off this week .... added to the two public holidays makes a nice break .... and with the heat the way it is this week .... glad to be inside and out of it !
well the numbers are looming ... so wasting time and a post to get to the big number .... before I head off ...
