This year the rally featured a Stanley steamer and a 1968 built rail car billed as Australia's first Cackle car running 90% nitro and producing between 2000 and 2500 hp. I took a start up video.... I was about 5 feet away from the pipes... the sound wave was physically shaking my chest and rumbling the ground..... talk about cackle.... Banshee alert
392 Chrysler Hemi
I know Morrie Carlton quite well. a very quiet and unassuming guy he fixes stereos ....... I couldn't believe that he piloted this car in the 70's

littler bit of rain overnight.... should knock the dust on the head for today
still cleaning the dust out of my eyes from yesterday. There is a red clay hill on the Simpsons Ridge/Whip mountain section that
should test all the cars. Tested out a Nissan Patrol with a 4 inch lift on it and **bleep** Cepek tyres on the section on Tuesday
....had to reverse back and get another runup... a little bit of rain and it will be really really challenging... I guess hitting the base of
the hill @ 200kms an hr plus will see the WRC cars breeze it.... Dunno about a classic Datto 1600 though???
Our normal Friday viewing spot off evacuation road cost $140 for the pleasure this year so we found a new spot
...... much to the chagrine of the official viewing spot's promoters...but
so did the coppers on their toy trail bikes..... they are everywhere this year.
Off to set up some trackside tents as I think we will get a wetarse this year. I have a residnets pass so I can get access to the
track until 8.30am
