New seller wrong pricing auction

Help!!

New to selling items on eBay.

Wanted to set a reserve on auction and realised it's only for vehicles.

And now bidding has ended with way below what I want for item.

What can I do to rectify this

Thanks in advance

Re: New seller wrong pricing auction

I don't understand why you listed when you could see there was no reserve.

Perhaps you thought a BIN was the reserve, but it needs to state, Reserve Not Met in the listing.

You could cancel, explaining things to the buyer.

But expect negative feedback or honour the sale and chalk it up to lesson learnt.

Have just seen it is a tractor.

I thought you could list this in vehicles. The sale fee would be cheaper also.

Also bad move starting the auction at 99cents.

No matter what ebay 'recommends' always start your auction at the price you'd be happy to sell it for.

In case it only gets one bid.

Re: New seller wrong pricing auction

Auctions are just that, an auction where the highest bid wins.  Not the buyers fault you were happy to sell it for 99cents.

Do the honourable thing and keep up your side of the bargain.

What others have said is technically wrong, every item on Ebay has a reserve price.   Which is the starting price of the item, this is the minimum amount you are prepared to accept.

If you really wanted $5000 rather then $510, start the auction at $5000 not at 99 cents, you are lucky it didnt sell for 99cents.

You cant cant help people who don't use a bit of common sense.

Re: New seller wrong pricing auction

Regardless of what anyone says, nobody can force you to complete the sale.

You can cancel with the reason "problem with buyers address", so that you don't incur a defect on your account.

Start the auction at the minimum price you want, or make the item a Buy It Now, with immediate payment activated so that you don't have to go chasing the buyer.

Bear in mind the fee percentage is approx 13.4% of the sale price.

Re: New seller wrong pricing auction

Seriously, as said, cancel the sale using problem with buyer's address. If you get a negative feedback, you get a negative feedback. You have a 0 feedback account, so create a new one as you haven't lost anything. You just need a new email address. Then start the auction at the minimum price you want to get for it and go from there.
