seller postage quote is to cover ebay seller fees and packaging my purchases from me?

Can a seller charge excess postage to justify time taken to pack my goods ( not fragile as such) and to help cover ebay fees I have never come across it until now and I don’t think that is fair at all

Technically postage charges are "postage and handling" which can include the cost of postage, packaging, time spent putting the item in the packaging, time spent in line at the post office and yes, eBay's fees on postage.

A seller can charge whatever they want and if people think the price is too high, they will buy elsewhere ( unless the seller is the only one with that product) or do without.

I appreciate your reply and feel the seller is just hoping I will pay up and shut up. Its a difficult situation I have never experienced and in fact some sellers offer to refund any over charge if their estimated combined total is more than expected but ai know what things cost and I always say dont need to refund if its within reason as in say less than $5. I have never pursued if close to that and often find sellers quote Au Post costs then send by alternative methods at far lest cost no doubting this and I make no claim then. I am just thinking all of these sellers need to be pulled into line now. Obviously they are getting away with this. I do appreciate your opinion and thanks again.
