I purchased 2 moroccan poufs IDs 251447382221 and 251450703158 from the same seller. Upon receiving them, they smelled of an overwhelming manure smell. Smell is subjective, so before I contacted the seller, I simply aired the poufs out in my garage for a few days. When the smell failed to dissipate, I contacted the seller, advising of the smell, gave him feedback that the smell or method of tanning ought to be listed in the description so buyers can make an informed purchase, or at least list how one could remove the smell upon receipt. He obviously knew the smell I was referring to - "we have our own workshop making all Moroccan leather goods, the Moroccan leather is hand organically tanned, ( we don't use chemicals) and to put you in the picture of tanning process please have a look to this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Du23pwh0qLI after that you know where the smell come from 🙂 so now to don't worry the smell will fade in 10 days or less ! the embroidery patterns on the top of the pouffes are hand done by women in Morocco , and I was expecting the pattern I put in the picture to be in these pouffes we just had 2 weeks ago. we have just this pattern on tan colour pouffe for now. - About the contrast and smell: like I said about the smell it will fade with time just in air , for the Tan pouffe it's just natural leather oiled so it can smell a bit longer, the white pouffe smell just when you open the zip, true? because the white paint hide the odour outside the pouffe , but inside it does smell ! the products stay in plastic bags ( packaging) when they are made until they come here , you can imagine the smell of our shop when they just come but just in 4 days the smell disappear." I continue to air out both poufs in the garage with fresh ventilation with doors open for another 3 weeks. The smell was so bad from both poufs, that having both inside simply stunk up the whole house. I contacted the seller again, advised that upon his advice, the poufs still smelled and requested a refund. He got agitated but agreed to a refund. After waiting days to get a response to obtain the return address, I open a Paypal dispute for and item SNAD due to the smell and also because the brown pouf didn't have the same stiching colour/embroidery pattern as the one listed in the auction # PP-003-024-730-303 and PP-003-024-726-425. I opened these in order to obtain a return address to send the poufs back. At this point, I just wanted to return them and get a refund. The seller responds to this and doesn't even want to rectify with me and escalates both disputes to a claim. 2 days later, via ebay messaging, responds to my pre-dispute message requesting a return address and sends me the return address. My question now is, what if Paypal rule against me and I've sent the poufs back. I will be without product and without refund. Is there any thing I can do to prevent this? All I want is a refund and the seller to get his product. But because the claim is currently under review, I'm not sure what I should do. I currently still have the poufs and am ready to send them back. Any help would be really appreciated.
