Hello all, and thank you for all the great advice - I have been selling on eBay for a few years now and have learnt more from reading these pages than anywhere else.
I had a situation recently and although I don't intend to do anything about it, for future reference I would like to know if DSR ratings can be revised like feedback. I understand that they are supposed to be anonymous, but when you're a small trader, it's not too hard to work out.
I sold a lady some new thermals - brand new with tags and in a box that was sealed. Unfortunately the size on the box and the garment were different. The buyer contacted me, and because I had no more in the size she wanted, I refunded all her money immediately and posted her an addressed pre-paid satchel to return the item.
It was all very amicable and she left me positive feedback, but gave me 1 star for item as described. I know that technically, she is right and I have no intention of making a fuss, - especially in light of the positive feedback.
My issue is that as a small trader (and a seasonal one at that), this had quite an effect on my DSR rating, and I can imagine being even more upset if I felt a rating was totally unfair. I have looked through the site map but couldn't find an answer.
As an aside, considering how DSRs are supposed to be anonymous, how are they supposed to help us lift our game if we don't know what we have done wrong?
Many thanks,
Marina.
