Ignore the antagonism, there is some information that's useful in amongst it, at least - we all have things that trigger concerns based on our experiences, and yours isn't particularly unique, and if it makes you feel any better, nor are the experiences that result in those concerns. Human beings are naturally pre-disposed to look for patterns and assign meaning to them, even if none truly exists (for example, a couple of years ago, I actually had a spate of problematic buyers who all had the same name in their username - they were absolutely different people, but I started to get wary of anyone who had that name in their eBay ID or as their real name ).
ebay used to delete dormant accounts (which I know because they sent me emails about the one I once created specifically for the forum and then never used - can't remember how long it took, I created it in 2011 and my last email from them on that account is dated 2016), but with the ability for anyone to use eBay as a guest, feedback or experience using eBay (or lack thereof) generally won't indicate anyone's trustworthiness these days.

his info is as follows
Based in Australia, ************* has been an eBay member since 08 Oct, 2016
he has 0 feedback?

Back in the better days David sellers could block buyers with less than 10 (I think) feedback that hadn't been verified, eBay in their wisdom cancelled that avenue. To my mind it was a valid tool for sellers to weed out problem buyers, not prefect, but little is in the eBay world..................

If you have red flags, just cancel and refund with the option "Problem with Buyers Address", so you don't get a defect.
Having said that, I've sold to many 0 feedbck buyers over the years without incident, but it depends on what the item is, as well as its value and how much risk you're willing to take.

How much feedback did you start with?
Would you have been happy to have purchases cancelled when YOU were new?

IMHO, it is quite different having zero when you are new and having zero over four years later
My first thought would be a hacked account to be honest

Glad to hear it.
I have had smooth transactions with 0 FB buyers who didn't buy straight away. Not 4 years, admittedly, but a year or so isn't particularly uncommon.
My issues tend to be with more experienced buyers who know how to work the system.
