$1.50 listing fee to auction a $10 Item

I cannot believe ebay wants $1.50 to do a basic auction listing of an item with a starting price of $10.00 ?  Two days ago it was only 50cents and that was too expensive. I guess ebay does not want people to do auctions anymore ?

Why not create another id for auction items and get 40 free per month and keep your store for BIN listings?

A live chat help assistant advised you can not use more then one ID for the 40 free listings every month.

Although you can actually do this, i wouldnt take the risk ebay linking the IPS, or getting dobbed in.

If caught ebay will restrict your account in some way and might even activate your account so you don't get the free listings.

At this stage i'll take the live chat help assistant's word for it.

Or perhaps CmtyGuide can step in and clear this up coz ive read lots and lots of users intend to (abuse) use additional IDs for the 40 freebies a month.

Signatures suck.

Would suggest the Live Chat person read ebay policies about multiple accounts as nothing there re any restrictions on the 40 free listings

Re: $1.50 listing fee to auction a $10 Item

After 7 years of regular weekly listings on ebay i'm getting out. Once my stock is gone thats it.

It will be almost impossible to sell small items such as Sports Trading cards now. It was bad enough being slugged by Australia Post but now put this on top and it makes selling here a waste of time and money.

Personally i think most people will hike up their postage charges to cover the higher fees and that will turn more buyers away.

Quicksales (Formally Oztion) is only 25c per listing so it's looking like a much better option for the future.

Re: $1.50 listing fee to auction a $10 Item

This will be the final nail in the coffin of finding that little gem on eBay.

I haven't been back on eBay for quite a while so I have noticed the change more so than others that are on here all the time.

I like to buy and sell small collectable items on eBay so when I had a motorcycle accident 8 weeks ago (been in hospital ever since) I decided to get onto eBay and buy a few things (yes I'm a bit bored)

It was so hard!!!! Apart from the fact that I found it difficult to find items from sellers in Australia the market was flooded with cheap Chinese made items, mainly from overseas members.

So to find anything that I was interested in I had to narrow the search parameters so much that I knew I would be missing out on something!!

What the hell has eBay done while I've been away????

I don't want everything to be BUY IT NOW!!!!!!

One problem = Ebay! One solution = All Australian buyers and sellers need to move to the other site! Afterall Ebay does not want us here anymore.
