100's of FAKE "views" added daily to items I have listed for sale.

Items (pot plants) which normally sell or reach the end of their selling period with perhaps only 25 - 40 "Views" at most are suddenly receiving , starting on the second day of listing 100 exactly  "views",  and always at the same time of day. The next day, another 100 or maybe 110, and the next day another 100, and so on until at the end of the selling period of 7 days there are 700 plus of these "views.

They are most certainly FAKE. No doubt about it. They could not possibly be genuine arriving in the listings always at the same time and the same round number.

Is anyone experiencing this sabotage or knows where it comes from?  It has been occurring daily for 2 months and of course it is impossible to know exactly the correct number of genuine "views"

I haven’t read the 11 pages of responses…. I stopped at like pg 3…. So forgive me if I’ve repeated something that others may have said.

It’s gardening season now that the weather is warming up.

Many people (probably half  the Australian population at a guess) are looking to buy plants.  During lockdown, plant sales went through the roof and I can verify that I contributed to those sales 😂😂…. To the detriment of my wallet, I might add 😂😑

If I type a plant name into google, it gives me many website links, as well as a group of pictures of that plant for sale across many many different venues and often, the first couple of venues are nearly alway eBay and I assume that eBay pay a fortune to have their listings appear first up. I’ve often clicked on an eBay listing from Google.
If, on Google, I select the tab ‘shopping’….. I get many many MANY listings.

If I browse a plant name through Gumtree, you will find every second line of sales is actually an EBay listing.  This is because eBay owns gumtree.  Makes sense to slot eBay listings into a customers search results because it’s eBay that gives them the money! (In seller fees)

If I click on plant listings from google, for an eBay listing, then don’t you think it’s reasonable that many others are too?

That being said…. I’ve never bought a plant off eBay yet….. but marketplace and Bunnings, definitely.

You should check them out 😉

Not to mention, your post here has also created a lot of views.  I know I’ve now looked at them a couple of times, and both plants are still listed….. not removed as you’ve indicated.

Please don’t get hooked up in the unnecessary stuff. Views don’t change anything. They don’t really matter. It’s mearly  window shopping! Nothing is at it seems here on eBay.

Don't spose you're in the market for some herbs, or rhubarb? My herb garden kind of went a bit bat shyte crazy after these recent rains. I have Oregano, Sage, Thyme, Marjoram, Rosemary, and probably other stuff! The rhubarb is off the scale. A delicious variety, but way more than I can ever use.
