150 Free Listings

Hello, just wondering if anyone else hasn't had any free listing other than the standard 40 per month. I used to get invitations for 100 to 1000 free listings but haven't had any for the last few months. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this?? Thanks

150 Free Listings

I haven't had one of these work since August last year. They seem to have totally discontinued them for the majority of sellers. Why? Who knows - they're only loosing money as lots of sellers won't list more than what they are allocated free. Seems a stupid plan to me to not do them regularly any more, but when has Ebay Aus ever made good sense?

How would anyone here know the reasons, apart from eBay just deciding it didn't want to give them any more? I'd been saying for ages that people shouldn't become dependant on them because they could stop at any time. Did anyone listen? Nope, because people are still complaining about all the items in their unsold folder that they can't list. Given they were a "gift" from eBay, it was their right to stop giving them away.

As per usual I got the "offer has expired" message when this link was first posted , but worked tonight, starting 18th, & finishing 27th for me. This has become the norm. TP posts the link, doesnt work for a couple of days, works for me around 3 days later. The offer is definately cycling on a 30 day system for my account.

Just as well as I got greedy this month and used my 40 freebies in the first ten days of the month in the hope the 150 freebies offer would work to carry me through the second half of the month. .Sales are quite strong at the moment so I was striking while things where on a roll and the buyers where circling.

Thanks for the link TP. .

With my extra 1600 listings in my store I intend to concentrate my listings there. Cheaper FVFs, too.

Whatever works for you......Smiley Happy

I find the non store account does not seem to be affected by throttling in the same way as the stores and the auctions are still working exceptionally well for us on this account. . We have had 58 sales and averaging turnover of $300 - $400 per week  on this account in the last month which is a handy top up to the stores. The items we sell on that account dont owe us much, so a fair % is profit.

It doesnt matter how many new listings I put up on the stores, my sales still remain the same, so if I want to sell a bit extra I use the non store account. Since ramping the non store account up, we have kept accurate records and will be declaring sales from this account along with our stores to the ATO.

It has worked that well for us that we are considering opening another 40 freebies per month, non store account. The stores just sit there ticking away with the same $$$ sold each month, so non store accounts are the only way we can grow our sales on ebay and make it worth the effort.  The stores also only sell a specilised range of products whereas we sell all sorts of things on the non store account which is a bit of fun, especially when an auction or group of similar items attract a lot of interest.

Despite all the doom and gloom on ebay it is still possible to sell enough to well and truly make it worth the effort. It just requires a bit of flexibility to work around the roadblocks that ebay put in place. The non store account is the work around that is allowing us to stabilise and even slightly increase sales at the moment.

Its also just a bit of fun hunting down that elusive stock that might make a small fortune.....Smiley Happy
