I got an email today offering 150 free listings until 12th May, this was sent to a new ID I set up last week. It said as I had been selling a lot here is a reward. This ID has sold nothing and is resticted to 30 listings per month??????????????????? What the hell good are 150 listings goping to do for me??????????????????
And this is after they said on Thursday they would not increase my limit because I was breaking Ebay rules.
I tried to get them on my other ID's and, of course, it was by invitation only.
Anyone got a brick wall I can borrow?

I am not sure what three free listings has to do with it ? I don't get them on any account as some of my IDs are listed as business accounts, so I do not have access to the relists even on my personal accounts as my accounts are linked, including a number where I sell similar types of goods.
If you want to list similar types of goods on a second selling account and are not confident based on your prior conversation with that eBay representative - ring again and request to speak to supervisor as you believe you may have been told incorrect information.
As long as you do not list IDENTICAL items or do not have very restrictive selling limits on your existing seller ID, I think it is worth a second go to get the correct information.
Sorry folks, I'm going a bit off topic here, but I'm furious regarding cats comments re 3 Free Re-Listings ! Not furious at you cats, furious at CS ! I have just gone through the process of creating a second ID (additional email address, blah, blah, blah) after spending close to 2 hours on the phone to CS yesterday (not just about this, also regarding a defect removal & that was a joke !).
Explained my account is set up as a Business account (which cannot be changed), so I wanted to start another ID (non-store at this stage) to get the benefit of the 3 Free Re-Listings and to sell just one category of the items I currently sell plus some specialty items. Not once was I told I would not be able to sell the same or similar items & having set up the new ID, I have not seen any advice/prompt telling me that either. What I was told by CS, was to be aware the 3 Free Auto Re-Lists only works until you have made your 100th sale ! Same old same old, I ran into so much trouble when I first started selling by taking advice/information from CS, I should have known better second time around !!! How pathetic - I am such a fool, soooooo angry right now and I haven't even listed my first item, lol

My other 2 id's are both top rated power seller. I sell mainly car related advertising in collectables but also sell in Vintage car parts and also sell other old car related items, parts, manuals, magazines, etc.
I wanted to start selling other advertising items such as cigarette, airline, toys, food, etc on a different user ID to later possibly convert to a store. I was told if I advertise anything in collectables on one ID I could not sell anything else in collectables on a different ID. He said I was selling the SAME item, is a 1980 Coke advert the same as a 1956 Ford 6 page magazine roadtest, apparently they seem to think they are if they are both advertised in Collectables?????????????
I personally know others who do so, but apparently not me. I fear now the rep has "reported" or "found out" I will be forever marked as a very bad person and will be treated so.
I have deleted all listings on the new ID and probably wont use it again. Thing I dont understand, I dont list, they dont make any money. If I do list they do make money. Why are they stopping me from making them money????????????????????

Maybe you spoke to the same *ool I did !
That sounds ridiculous though, that you can't sell in the same Category even, yes I would definitely do as cat has suggested & ring & speak to someone else.

I do not think this link is right, as usually a link at least lets you know what the offer is. Did anyone else get the offer at all please?

I got it on my other selling account and it's absolutely ridiculous as that account is restricted to only 10 items per month allowed to sell so therefore I can't use it,so why didn't I receive it on my astablished account where I could have listed and made ebay some more money lol

Here is the link to the actual promotion http://sellercentre.ebay.com.au/promo/2061 As mentioned, it is strictly invitation only. No amount of links posted is going to get it to work if you didn't get the email. These are different to the regular free listing promotions that everyone can take advantage of.
Cut and paste from the promotion page:
Who is eligible for this promotion?
- You must accept the offer and the terms and conditions and receive confirmation from eBay that 'you've accepted the offer'ย to be eligible for this promotion.
- This Promotion is open only to members validly registered on eBay.com.au who have received the email invitation to participate. This invitation is not transferable or exchangeable.
- The Promotion is linked to the USER ID to which the invitation is sent by eBay. Qualifying Sellers must list using the USER ID at the top of the invitation.
- Members whose eBay accounts are temporarily or indefinitely suspended or made inactive prior to or during the Promotion Period, are not eligible for this Promotion.
- For listing in 2 categories, standard rates may be charged for the second category.
- Sellers with listing restrictions will still be restricted by their listing restrictions and will not be able to participate.

I do find it amusing that any regular poster on these boards can be so gung-ho that to access free listings of any type, one must receive an email invitation.
eBay is just not that reliable in this area. My own and others experience have proved that, over and over again.
I do not know how anyone (save an eBay employee) could claim otherwise.
Maybe others would just like to have the link to try and see it for themselves - no harm in trying, is there ?

Thanks but did not work this time. Only way I seem to get the offers is via links here these days, so always worth trying.

Small things amuse small minds.
Promos that state they are 'available from the time you accept them',
or 'avaliable from the date of this email'
most likely are not any good for those who didn't receive the email
Regular posters know that as well. But try if you must
