My stores sales have been woeful for the last 4 weeks. This is not unexpected as most of my customers are businesses that close for the holiday break. Sales on the private account have also been very slow in the lead up to Christmas. BUT I have noticed before that auctions of collectibles can go really well when timed to finish between Christmas and new year.

The stats for the auctions I finished last night where 12 of 18 items sold. A total of 38 bids received from 11 different bidders. Sale prices well above expectation.

I have 13 auctions finishing tonight. Currently seven have bids and most of the others have watchers.

I had several different lines of collectibles listed and those sorts of clearances are very good for the sort of items I sell. The auctions are doing much better than my BINS at this time of year. I suspect they attract the casual buyer / browser more than BINS. This correlates with my past experiences of timing auctions in particular to finish during the Christmas, new year break. ( as noted in a previous post  before Christmas )  ie. it wasnt just a fluke.

I thought it was worth sharing the experience as I am sure there would be many sellers who would not feel comfortable with finishing auctions at this time of year and many of us struggle to keep sales and finances going during the holiday season slow down.

I have tried and tried a few times everyday over the last 2 weeks and sadly offer is still not available to me. When does this recent offer finish so I can give up trying please? On a good note have my 3 free auto lists back now so that is good. Even paid for a couple of $1.50 listings as will get 90 days with the 3 relists, but usually never do that as who knows with these days if they will sell.

They seem to be around about the middle of the month for 10 days, I think they would have finished for most people now.   Keep you eye on this page, as someone always posts as soon as they come up.   Like you, I don't like  paying the $1.50 but there are times when I have to.  Let's hope things start improving over this holiday period.

I just gave up trying after trying twice a day for nearly 3 months. I figure it's pointless continuing as it's never going to happen. Obviously there is something in eBay's systems whereby some get it every month religiously, other are destined to never get it. No biggy, it's just the way it goes. That's why I never got dependant on the other regular promotions that have now stopped. Becoming reliant makes it very difficult when they dry up.....which they usually do.

I'm not saying you should give up trying, just that I have.

I try this promotion every day and several times when I come to read the forums and every time it says No!

Today I read both tippytoes and ford12ford posts and thought I too would give up - after one more try......guess what? It worked!! Got 150 free lisitings starting Dec 30th to Jan 8th so keep on trying...!!!!

I think it was 'Invitation only' message. I just see the red letters which stand for "You cannot have this" lol!

Today the letters were Green!

I have another id and couldn't get it on that either have a feeling it was the expired message on that one.

I'm about to log into that id and try again. It's actually the other id I need the extras on because I have 150 sitting in unsold.

I get invitation only. Glad some are still getting it tho -me maybe next? Only have 3 days till my next 40 anyway. Happy New Year everyone, hope it is a good safe happy one for all.

I just checked my other id and the refusal was 'expired' message. But will keep trying... 🙂
