Ability to leave sellers negative feedback

In my early eBay trading days I was told by eBay that they like to create a level playing field.

It is the sellers who create the enormous wealth for eBay, but are not permitted to leave a buyer negative feedback when they don't pay or leave unjustified negative feedback for the seller.

A buyer has the ability to leave negative feedback against a seller who doesn’t do the right thing for any amount of reasons. I appreciate that, because not only am I a seller but also a buyer, and I always check what feedback has been left by past buyers on a particular item I am looking at.

It’s a shame that sellers don’t have to right to leave buyers feedback for exactly the same reasons.

I ASK ALL EBAY SELLERS TO PETITION EBAY REGARDING THE ABILTY TO LEAVE THE APPROPRIATE FEEDBACK AGAINST BUYERS.

This can be done by emailling any or all of the email addresses below. I am confident that if sufficient emails are received by eBay it will make them sit up and take notice.

And it won't happen with that attitude. Email ebay - it's almost as easy as replying to comments

Unfortunately you don't know eBay very well at all - there hasn't been a level playing field for quite a few years:|

Why would I do that? I'm a buyer, and even if I were a seller I wouldn't.. I'm happy with the feedback process as it is...

The reason that eBay removed the ability for sellers to leave Negative feedback was because of all the sellers that were leaving retaliatory negs which kind of defeats the purpose of feedback if the buyers can't honestly say how they felt about the situation..

If you open non paying bidder disputes and have your blocks put in place, this is what helps sellers weed out dodgy buyers not feedback..

E-mail them if you want, but I think you're wasting your time

I doubt that many people will take you up on your suggestion to lobby ebay.  Are you aware that it is a slappable offense to petition or campaign against ebay?

The best way for sellers to leave an appropriate imprint in a buyer's reputation is to follow through with UPI disputes in a timely, courteous manner and in accordance with eBay rules. If a buyer receives too many of these, you can put settings in place that restrict that person from bidding or buying your items - you needn't raise a finger. I've put these rules in place exactly because of past experiences but in future auctions will add a note that says something similar to "if you're blocked, contact me." So, if there are some genuine bidders out there, they have a chance to redeem themselves.
