My Ebay account, which has been active since about 2004, has been hacked three times in three days. I have rung Ebay in the US four times. They tell me it is secure now, but I am still worried. I changed my email, my password, took all my financial information out. Every time I restore the account, a hacker changes it again. Ebay says it's someone in Germany, I am in Australia. Has this happened to anyone else? I am scared to list anything.
The only thing I have done different was I made one small purchase of a bird toy through my IPhone5. Maybe that was where a hacker got in? I am not particularly computer savvy (middle aged mother).

It definately sounds like you have picked up either a trojan or keylogger virus which is what will cause the repeated hacking of your account. Also be very cautious with any other online activity such as banking etc until you have sorted the problem.
Run your anti virus scan and also if you have a genuine copy of Windows ( won't work otherwise) use Microsoft Security Essentials and run it to see if there are any issues.
You can run this over and above your usual anti virus program and is available for free just Google it

Thank you all. I haven't had any emails today Ebay related. I have changed my Ebay email address & password. I've also changed my Hotmail address, and that password. And also the Paypal password. I did get an email from Auctiva today saying my Ebay token had run out, which did worry me, until I logged on to Auctiva and it did say that from inside the application. I keep checking my Ebay personal information, and everything is changed as I changed it. Perhaps you're right, maybe I did click on a bogus email at some stage, probably on my phone. I'm only new at the smart phone thing. I've taken the Ebay app off the phone, and everything else (games etc) that it didn't come with. Think I've covered all my bases. Oh and I got a virus protector for the phone and ran the virus protector on my computer, though it came up with 0 problems.

It is not just viruses you have to worry about, unless you d a full security scan no amount of changing passwords will do any good if you have a trojan or keylogger.
It is also a good idea to turn off System Restore before running the scan as some nasties can be burried in that part of the system that will re infect after any scan has found and removed malware.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

Hi phorum junkie,
It is also a good idea to turn off System Restore before running the scan as some nasties can be burried in that part of the system that will re infect after any scan has found and removed malware.
How do I do that please?

System restore just saves restore points, and occasionally it saves the malware or virus so you will be re-infected if you have an older restore point that you use - virus scans and other tools don't remove malware from system restore, but turning it off then back on deletes all restore points, meaning the best thing to do is toggle it off / on after you are sure your computer is completely free of viruses.
Here's a guide on how to do it with various OS's: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-system-restore-in-windows-vista/
Or if you have Windows 8 (not covered in the link above): http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/uploadfile/6cde20/turn-off-system-restore-in-windows-8/
