Advice needed

Hey guys.... I need some advice as I have not been put into this situtation before...

Long story short, I had an auction and someone won.. shortly after the auction ended they said it was a mistake and couldn't pay.... I can accept this... but the problem is.. I don't want to loose that extra money in ebay fee's... I know that if I open an unpaid item case that I can get these fee's back.. but I would need to let the buyer know this first... What happens if I email them back and say "I accept that you can't pay but I need to open a case agaisnt you" and they say No way??

Is there any other way around this? So that I get my fee's back and the buyer does not get a strike on their name?

Re: Advice needed

yes, of course, you email them and ask if they will agree to a 'MUTUAL CANCELLATION'

you do this like a non payer dispute, but if the buyer agrees (they need to accept via the email ebay send them), then the  transaction is cancelled by ebay, you get your final value fee back, and the buyer does not get a strike

Re: Advice needed

Just do a MUTUALLY AGREE to end transaction . Nobody gets charged anything nobody suffers.

But it will cost you one of your FREE insertions. Or if you have used them all up you may have to pay for that insertion fee.

Im not to sure about that as it has just changed in that area, Maybe one of these harden sellers will know that.

But at worse its $1.50 for most things under $100 i think cheaper for those with a store 50cent?.

If you want the $1.50 im shore the buyer would pay $1.50 not to get a strike and end it now.

I know i would and it would be the right thing to do as they are the ones who want to cancel.

It is good of you  that you are willing to let the buyer off most sellers here demand payment.

Well done to you for being understanding.

Re: Advice needed

Be aware that if the buyer rejects the Mutual Cancellation, you will not get your fees back.

They had to hit the button TWICE to buy, so a mistake, while possible, is not necessarily likely.

I would open a NPB. If they pay, that's it. If they don't you get your fees back and they get a strike. Simple.

Just kits-if there was an underbidder, you can also make them aware that you are happy to send them a 2nd chance offer if you like once the non payer is resolved.

So.. a little off topic.. but I keep hearing about these free insertion fee's and I went onto the website fee page and it says that  "To qualify for 30 free listings per month members must have a Registered Address in Australia, and must not be a PowerSeller, registered as a business or a Store subscriber. Listings must be single quantity and not fall within Excluded Categories"

None of my items are in the excluded categories list and I'm not a powerseller so.. how come I don't get 30 free listings a month?????
