Advice saught from sellers before I leave negative as a buyer

I am asking here as a buyer, in the seller area.

I seek opinion before I leave feedback in order to be fair to seller.

Short version.

-I won a bid

-Paid there and then with Paypal.

-I wanted a torch and got a vehicle spotlight(Cheap and nasty)

The torch was metal and a very very good price.

-Seller sent the wrong item

-I want the item, however, seller will only refund and not resend

- I now have to return item before i get the refund..i still

        want original item.

Is this a was of fooling buyer if they don't get the full price they wanted?

Should this be a neg, neutral or positive.

I have to say, I am not happy, however, i dont want to over-react.

What are you thoughts?

Thanks

If I, as a seller made the error, I would pay for the return postage and send you the correct one.

But not all sellers give good service.

However, I would be sceptical as to the quality of the item you want as well and if the seller is not being helpful, it may be better to simply get a refund and find another seller.

I would leave a neg with - Seller sent wrong item. Refunded, not postage.

First of all, are you sure it was a torch you bid and won or was it the spot light?

If it was in fact the torch and the seller sent you a spot-light and will only refund, then take the refund BUT also leave a big red neg for the seller for not holding up their end of the deal.

In all fairness, they have sold 4000 items with minimal negs. This may be a one off. However, isnt this the idea of feedback to say how my sale went?

If I was a low moral seller, this would seem like a good way of not sending an item which sold for less than i wanted for it.

I guarantee it was the wrong item. I double checked just to make sure. There is even a picture. A torch (Paramedic..me) is nothing like a large vehicle spotlight. Fair question though.

You could opena dispute for Not As Described or just get the refund and leave a negative feedback.

I now have a return postage label sent via email.

I wont have to pay for return postage.

I did open a dispute, but, as the seller is saying they will give a refund on return, i guess they are trying, however, its still a bad sale.
I get refund on return (If they say they got it)

I have never left negative feedback before. Looks like it would be fair to leave a NEG in this case.

Thanks for your time ๐Ÿ™‚

Just make sure you do it through the ebay dispute process, otherwise taking the sellers word for it may end you with no item and no refund. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I would not leave a neg if they refund and cover the return cost, please make sure that the return postage is trackable,  if I have to open a dispute to get them to cover the return then I would leave a nuet.

I only leave a neg if I have to escalate the dispute to a claim and/or have to pay for the return.

If it was a genuine error on the part of the seller it does seem unfair to leave negative feedback considering they are prepared to refund you and pay for the return postage.

Sellers are only human and we do sometimes make mistakes. If a seller is prepared to fix their error then it shows they are offer good customer service.
