All negative feedback removed

Wondering if anyone else has come across this.

Where a 'protected seller' (think we know what that means these days) has ALL negative feedbacks removed regularly.
I won't name the seller as I will probably be banned for saying it but there is one that has had literally hundreds of negatives removed from their feedback.

Since last night more than 20 'disappeared' to keep them, as always at 100% feedback.

I actually had Ebay say in one phone call when I queried this several months ago that they were 'automatically' removed. Whatever that is supposed to mean.

Has anyone else noticed this sort of thing in their line of business

Re: All negative feedback removed

.. back in the day people from the pesa side of things who qualified used to get ""special" "ebay account managers"" who could elevate their position in best match etc .. from what I have heard that particular program is no longer in existence but has been replaced by a myriad of insider seller programs where these protected species do get special treatment .. I have seen a few over the years not only completely dominating the entire front page (via best match default) of massive categories but in recent times have seen a few other abberations and one of them is exactly what you are describing comcol .. to say that ebay upper management stanks of the amway culture would be an understatement .. so plainly desperate and underhanded to make a buck by extending privaledge to those who pay to play .. anyway suffice to say that ebay is nowhere close to a level playing field .. not much can be done about it aside from letting people know what is going on .. it will obviously be difficult to give specific examples of sellers who get these privaledges without attracting moderator attention ..

anyway suiffice to say that when these "privaledged sellers" attract too much attention even ebay washes their hands with them but obviously they get way too much leniancy that is in no way extended to lesser mortals .. one thing these "privaledged sellers" have in common is they pay big fees which is obviously what ebay finds so attractive about those sellers and not the "buyer experience" that ebay's marketing team often allude to ..

Would think this is a very serious issue and hurting a lot of other business on Ebay who provide good service etc.

Since I can't investigate the seller in question, nor have I seen a specific seller have all negs removed inexplicably (I've seen / heard of some - just not all - negs disappearing), I can really only comment on the subject in general; however that is the point that makes me question the reasoning eBay would have for providing this level of protection for sellers. Impressions count for something, but it's the erosion of trust that would concern me, in that they talk a lot about retaining buyers at the cost of sellers, but this sort of thing is the opposite of that, allowing for there to be no warning or observation of consistent issues that dealing with a particular seller may present.

It's an unethical and hypocritical action for eBay to take when most other sellers, who try to get unfair / untrue negatives removed, are told "it's the buyer's opinion, suck it up".

Back before big box businesses became* so prevalent on eBay, there was a tool seller that was rather infamous both for problems buyers would experience, and having a lot of neg feedback removed, yet they still hovered between 98% and 99% most of the time, if memory serves, so it's definitely not a new issue, but perhaps an even more concerning one, despite the fact that negs don't affect a seller's account like they used to. These days, the known brands and retailers (I mean the national chain store types), can still have pretty shoddy feedback in the grand scheme of things, which makes me wonder what makes the sellers who get most (if not all) negs removed, so special? Are they effectively paying protection money? Smiley Surprised I mean, the practice would go against all of their (proclaimed) motives for the vast majority of recent policy changes and introductions, so there would have to be (methinks) some kind of other incentive for eBay to p**s off X buyers rather than risk p****ing off one seller.

3 posters said the same as I did so what made you choose me as a scap goat mate?

The % rate from the negatives get removed ie if you had 98% then after 12 months you will have 100%.

And who the hell is going to look back through 12 months of feedback just to find 1 negative and then go **bleep** I'm not buying from this seller as they have a hidden negative feedback please mate get a life

I judged yours to be the most wrongest ( Have fun with that davevil).  As for looking back no one will, however your statement remains incorrect.

While you can't name the seller what is the order of their FB 1000's, 10000's, 100,000s as I referenced earlier "High-volume sellers (who earn more than 1,000 Feedback per year) can send more requests." and are they local or Chinese sellers?
