Any chance of removal ?

Hi all, story goes, sent reminder on day 5 to buyer, opened UPI day 7, buyer paid day 8, case closed. A week later we receive negative: Great item SHOCKING SELLER IMPATIENT DEMAND PMT - NOT DEAL AGAIN

Goes witout saying that no feedback has or will be left for this buyer and have put on our BBL

eBay states 4 days can open UPI, close 4 days later if no payment.

Should we ask eBay to remove fb on the grounds that we were following eBay protocol?? Bit cheesed off actually, 8+ years and first ever neg!

"Simply an unhappy buyer who may have just made the wrong purchase choice but felt compelled to prevent a strike against their name and begrudginly paid."

The evidence doesn't support this assumption - despite obviously being very unsatisfied with the seller, the buyer still made a point of mentioning satisfaction with the item - "good item - in his/her feedback.

Very true. Most likely, they were happy with their purchase. It'd be unusual if the bid was by accident. I was mainly thinking that perhaps they bid on a similar thing and were stuck paying for two of the same item.

Think about it - shopping online has become increasingly popular because many people are juggling a multitude of committments and are, as a consequence, quite time-poor...clicking a few buttons is much more time effective than running back and forth to B&M shops.  My point is, for many people these days, seven days can rush by in the blink of an eye...sellers/online retailers are reaping the benefit our hectic lifestyles, but some are not making any allowances for it.

The seller did make an allowance.. eBay states that you can open a UPI on day 4 and close it on day 8.. The seller in question waited not 4, but 7 days before opening a UPI.. The only other thing I would have done in this situation, is maybe send the buyer a message to ask if they still wanted the item..

If people are so time poor that they can't remember when they have payments to make, then maybe these buyers should just pay imediately after buying the item.

Sellers are time poor too... They have paying customers to take care of.

Maybe non-payers, slow payers or anyone who has required more time and effort just to get to the point where the seller can get on with packing, posting etc etc, should start making allowances for that.

Have you ever received a reminder notice for a bill/invoice yourself?  Do you pay your bills/invoices the very moment you receive them?  Would you have appreciated essentially receiving a demand for payment with the threat of negative consequences after seven days?

EBay does allow sellers the option of opening an UID after 4 days of non-payment...and eBay does allow buyers the option of leaving negative feedback...which one, buyer or seller, is in the wrong for using the options allowed by eBay?

Ultimately, selling on eBay is a business...so if you chose an option which may impact negatively on your business, you've made the wrong decision - it's basic common sense.

Buyers don't have to make any allowances for you...they're paying you money to source your stock, pack, post and deal with them...you're not performing a community service.

.

A bill is not quite the same as an eBay purchase, particularly in a Buy It Now situation. It's more like asking someone to hold something at a shop without leaving a deposit for it, except on eBay the seller is constrained by an obligation to continue holding it for a lot longer than would be considered reasonable in the B&M situation, lest there be negative consequences for the seller.

I recently paid my internet bill a little late, they sent me a reminder, told me the consequences of late payment, then the next one they sent me had a $15 late payment fee whacked on to it.

You completely missed my point. And if they're not paying, then they're not paying for me to spend my time trying to finalise a transaction one way or another.

Yes, and you may not appreciate this consequence, so may chose the option of taking telling others you're dissatisfied with their customer service.  This buyer has simply chosen the same.
