Where do I start ...
Ever since other ebay international sites started with the GPS, we have had issues with people from the UK blasting us and threatening to leave a neg due to the extra charges they face on customs and duties when their parcel lands.
They seem to think the same applies here and will not listen (or read) that it is not an option here. They are just dumping parcels at their local PO and refusing to collect them.
We have been waiting for them to come back and refunding them the cost of the item only (their responsibility to pay and collect, then their decision to abandone the parcel) - but it's become a MAJOR pain in the ar$e.
I personally was slugged with $33.95 'postage fees' on a UK parcel through a seller using GPS - apparently it was to cover GST and import charges on a $9.95 purchase. Last time I checked, it didn't cost about $10 in gst on an item of that cost ... illegal charges in this country, in my book.
Ebay really needs to look into this.
But back to the topic, anyone else coping flack from UK buyers?

I am not a seller so cannot comment on what happens when you send items overseas....but I do know that the import threshold is very low compared to ours in Australia. It seems as though your customers do not understand that they are responsible for these charges no matter what postal service is used.
I do know that the items are returned to the sender by the cheapest postage....this is sea mail from the UK so it will take quite a while to get back to you.
I also think you have misunderstood the GSP postage. If the item was less than $1000 you do not pay any GST or other import charges. The amount you were charged was purely and simply the GSP shipping amount for the shipper to do the paperwork and ship the goods to you.
If there are any import charges they will be listed seperately on the invoice....they are not included in the shipping cost.

Not quite the same thing, as the OP is an Australian seller

I do understand the taxes and thresholds for Australia :).
I just get annoyed that we give our customers cheap, fast reliable postage worldwide ... and they get mucked over at their end.
They then take it out on us.
