Hi Just trying to find out whether my listing template is allowed to contain the shop's physical address?

Hi there, Im pretty sure the answer the is no. Ebay doesnt want anything that would redirect traffic away from their site. However Im not positive as I have seen other sellers do this. I know there are some other ways that you can advertise your store but I cant remember exactly what- Although Im sure there some people on here that have some ideas. I think it helps to use the same name in your Ebay selling ID as your website, and theres a way you can do it through your About Me page thats apparently not against Ebay regulation- sorry cant remember what, wasnt going to re-investigate this until i was ready to set up a website. Im sure you could do a search online though.

I would have thought not. I recently had listings removed and received policy violations under their Direct Sales Policy simply because I had the words "contact me" - silly silly me because I didn't say "contact me through ebay messages":^O
I would think you do so at your own peril.

Yes Motherbear thats what i think. But heres just one article on how you can go about it, and there are many more out there.
I think people do advertise their page, some just not knowing that its a violation of policy and some that do know but just hope they dont get caught. Might as well do it in the right way where ebay cant call you out on it.

"But heres just one article"
Here's another article:
"there are many ways for owners of small brick-and-mortar businesses to make a living on eBay. "
"Use eBay to advertise your location. If you have a specialty, high-profile, or tourist-friendly business or you are located in an area with a large customer base and a large amount of foot traffic, eBay can be an excellent way to advertise. Simply include a prominent section in your item descriptions telling buyers about your store"

I think you'll find that very experienced business sellers like eg. Sonya (most people would know her) do know ebay's listing policies and follow them.

I'd prefer to see some advice from ebay, not from someone on about dotcom.
I'm pretty sure it's ok on your me page, I'm not so sure it's ok on your listings but you could well be right silverstereo.
