As my selling items are being ruined by "0" rating bidders how can I exclude them from an auction.

As my selling items are being ruined by "0" rating bidders how can I exclude them from an auction. As this is Avery disruptive and annoying events of eBay selling, I would suggest it needs to be stopped, selling fees are not cheap and I expect others would feel the same and sell elsewhere. Please help.

Alex go to the site map at the bottom of any page, and under "selling activities" click on "blocked bidder/ buyer list" then set up your blocks as you want. (low feedback buyers without verification is the one that will help you), but put others in as well.

You can certainly block individuals with 0 feedback from bidding on your items by going to the 'block bidders/ buyers list'  but I don't know of a way to 'blanket' block all potential bidders with 0 feedback from bidding.

If you go to your 'Site preferences' you can click on 'Buyer requirements' and you can blanket block bidders with neg feedback scores, but that doesn't offer you the option of blocking 0 feedback bidders.

I have noticed that other sellers who have reservations about dealing with 0 feedback bidders, put a special note in their listings asking those potential bidders to make contact before bidding.

To find Buyer Requirements: Click on 'Account' at the top of your home page, select 'Site preferences' then 'Buyer requirements'

Re: As my selling items are being ruined by "0" rating bidders how can I exclude them from

this does not stop them if they have a paypal account and are verified through that

here is what the learn more about verification blocking says

 Buyer Requirements

Please note that even though you may select to block a particular type of buyer, some exceptions apply:

Buyers who haven't gone through phone verification. If buyers have registered with PayPal or have a credit card on file, they'll still be able to bid on or buy your items.

eBay wants to make sure that buyers meet your criteria. However, if your buyers meet an equivalent requirement (have a PayPal account, credit card on file, etc.), we will not block them from doing business with you.

So what are you saying? That there should be no NEW buyers allowed on ebay? We all had to start somewhere and if all sellers had your philosiphy there would be no new buyers allowed to start buying on here because all sellers would have them blocked. Way to go. Cut your nose off to spite your face.

Re: As my selling items are being ruined by "0" rating bidders how can I exclude them from

that's abit rough

if we want to block someone, I don't think eBay should be able to over rule that. wonder how they get around that?

OP, what do you mean by you're items are being ruined by 0 bidders?

and forgot who said about blocking all 0's (sorry) but it's our choice who we wish to trade with, regardless of if we are buyers or sellers.

However I get your point, if we allow no new people to enter the market, then it will eventually close - yeah I get that. but I reckon lots of people are more worried about now, rather than in a few years time. eBay would be looking long term though, must be why they overrule the blocks?

If this is the lounge suite that you had to re-list because a '0' rating bidder

didn't pay up.   Then you should have got your fees back from ebay, and

therefore cost you nothing (except your time)

Bsal, if you were replying to harley, I don't think that's what she was implying (maybe the OP was), just that if buyers had verified their PayPal A/C then they would be free to bid/buy. (assuming they didn't fail with strikes etc)

From day one I had my account verified, so I never had problems with bidding - not sure how many sellers had blocks in place back then, but I'd be willing to bet the farm that it was less than it is now, due to the seemingly more prevalent issues with NPB's.

Re: As my selling items are being ruined by "0" rating bidders how can I exclude them from

Please read what has been written.I am not saying block all 0 feedbackers. however if I choose to block someone without ebay verification then it should b my choice. Ebay should not be able to overide that because that buyer has a credit card attached to their paypal account, Which is what I posted above is saying.

Re: As my selling items are being ruined by "0" rating bidders how can I exclude them from

I have very few non payers, usually an average of 1 per id in a six month selling period and so far this time not one of them has had zero feedback.

Of course I do have any member with more than one unpaid item strike blocked, I know it works by the number of people who have tried to bid but couldn't.

I have actually found that new members are the quickest to pay, they are quick to ask for help if they get into trouble and a bit of hand holding and taking them through the process can mean a repeat buyer. I have one or two who buy multiple items from me as soon as my shop goes live.
