Aust Post Click and Send

Just wondering how others are finding Click & Send. I decided to give it a try thinking it might streamline my postage - what a joke!

It seems a very amateurish system. This morning, one of my labels disappeared before being printed and of course it is not possible to access it again. No support available from Aus Post being Sunday and their email reply indicates they are having a higher than usual volume of enquiries to deal with (there's a surprise!) and I should expect to hear within 48 hours. So what do I do? I pride myself on posting quickly to buyers but now being thwarted by Aus Post system. Interested to hear how others are going.

Tried it once ages ago. Never used it since. The little bit of money you can save isn't worth the hassle to me.

You can reprint a label either from the confirmation email from C&S or login to C&S and go to History, filter by today's date, select the item and click Print document.

Not worth a cracker as far as I'm concerned. As you say, it's a VERY hit & miss System that really has no advantage. Another thing I've found is the Tracking No.'s they give are no good & can't be tracked. My local Post Office always crosses out the Bar Code & issues another one...

Why would they do that?

If you are using the flat-rate satchels or boxes the postage is paid online and your PO just needs to scan the parcels as lodged and give you a receipt.

If you're using the Own Packaging option through C&S when you take it to the PO they need to process it as a Click & Send Regular parcel and scan the C&S barcode. The postage cost label prints out with a matching barcode number and you receive a receipt for payment and lodgement.

Some post offices (including mine) seem to be unable to process signature on delivery click and send own packaging pay at post office items and have to put on a new signature on delivery barcode label over previious to get system to process a click and send item with SOD requirement.

Aust Post has provided such inconsistent advice on this matter on the boards when everything changed earlier this year, that I just go with the flow and take a lodgement form along as well for proof of post and add an additional tracking number manually to the ebay transaction.

I think a poster once provided information on how the code should be punched in by the PO, but I do not think that AP customers should continually train AP staff in AP software.

Thanks very much for that advice. For some reason I didn't get an email for this one - I wonder if that meant it wasn't processed, or maybe I hadn't manually ticked a box to receive the email? But I did get a payment receipt so it seems I paid for the postage. Anyway, I had another try and this time I did receive the email and can see how the label can be retrieved. Thanks again.

I don't think Aus Post has done much in the way of staff training and there's been so many changes over the past few years. Maybe I should get my PO to write a How To Process Click & Send guide. They took a while to work out the last lot of changes but they all seem to know what to do now. I do have the parcels sorted and hand them over in batches though, this lot for lodgement, this lot as C&S Regular etc. I did have one lot of parcels ages ago with Sig on Delivery that were given an extra tracking number and I didn't realise until later so I uploaded the second number into eBay.

My experiences with clickandsend have been nothing but positive.  On my other ID I have been using it for a couple of years now both for Australian and overseas parcels and cannot believe what a difference it has made to streamling the shipping process.

In that time I have had reason to call clickandsend for help on two occasions and both times the people whio answered my call were VERY helpful and patient.  I cannot speak highly enough of their courtesy, knowledge and helpfulness.

I have far greater peace of mind using clickandsend and I am sure my buyers appreciate the samll saving in postage costs.

Clickandsend has my vote every time!

just repeating the post - pretty much sums up my experiences.

I struggled for my first few transactions, but now I'm loving it.

If something doesn;t work, or I make a mistake etc, I just ring them and they help me sort it out and talk me through it on the phone.
