Did anyone else easy about this. There may well be a few unhappy buyers this week (including mine possibly).

Yeah, talking about truck drivers being half asleep... About eight years I was driving up to Qld from Vic and about 7am one morning in northern NSW I decided to pull off the road for a while because the huge AP truck just behind me was starting to wander all over the road. He was a bit too close for comfort and he was an accident waiting to happen. I pulled into a layby and he pulled in behind me so at least he was awake enough to know that he wasn't awake enough to drive. I kept driving then but it made me wonder how many laws he'd been breaking if he was that tired.

How many times do the boardies see someone sending dangerous goods and having no idea of the possible ramifications if AP guidelines are not adhered to.
Multiply that by the thousands of non ebay parcels being sent and it is anybody's guess how many parcels have the potential to cause problems.
I know for a fact that the temperatures in some of the vans and trucks used for delivery can get very hot....dangerously so in the middle of summer. Add together heat, movement and a restricted item that has not been declared or packaged properly and there is always the potential for a fire.
Yes, I was thinking of sabotage but it could easily be prohibited items, as you say. I'd imagine a full truck would have less hot air in it but of course they'd be continually adding more parcels and taking some out along the way.

maybe he was carrying mail from politicians, enough hot air to set the truck on fire there.

No need for it to be mail from politicians. There's plenty of hot air on ebay too!

Mmmm had a NSW based buyer contact me today asking me to follow up where their parcel had got to - impressed that they were so very patient to give it time and also that they have not opened a not received case.
Looking at the tracking I have not only busted my post office for not scanning my parcels at their convenience on the Monday when I dropped them off as they were busy - after a round trip at Sunshine sorting facility that took a couple of days, it appears a real possibility that this parcel was on this truck 😞
Wll ring AP in the AM .... *sigh*

I wonder if there is any way of finding out? Do they have a record of what parcels go on what truck I wonder? Mr Tippy used to cart mail bags as part of his freight, but they were all bagged and tagged when he collected them (he didn't drive a mail truck, it was just part of his mixed freight).
Hopefully yours is still just caught in the loop but it's not looking promising. Sounds like you have good buyers like I do, send a message rather than open a dispute. There should be more of it.

Rang AP this morning and they have opened an investigation.
They only indicated that the last place it was scanned was at the sort centre.
So much quicker to open the case now as AP can access the details of the eBay label which covers off type of post, sender and addressee details - yay !! been some time since my last lost parcel, gosh its taken a few years to get the systems integrated.
As this is not a MBG dispute I will refund the buyer if there is no sign of parcel or AP progress or outcome by the end of the week. This is my business choice, and I respect that others may not make the same choice for many reasons.
I will pursue compensation from AP if needs be.

I would do exactly the same and in fact, I have. I always ask them to wait another week and most of the time they turn up during that week, but if not, I'll refund. I'm only going to be forced to if they open a dispute. I've only had to refund a few times (can count on one hand) and all those buyers have been back, bought more and had their parcels arrive. Sometimes good business choices generate return customers.

You might like to check AP tracking on this number: R321592005307849006120900.
Now is that a coincidence or not? Yes, the buyer is In NSW; no, she hasn't received her item. I think we can safely say that our buyers are going to get their purchases in charred condition, if at all.
The good news is that I was on the phone to AP today. I hadn't seen your post at the time. They offered me compensation and postage refund but I agreed to leave it with them for a few more days. I think I might ring them again tomorrow and claim it.
