AP still 'offer' a signature-required 'service' for $2.95, but will now PP accept the standard tracking as it pertains to Seller Protection?
I hope so, this would save a packet and increase sales. I for one would certainly start listing a heck of a lot more.

Here is the policy,
Proof of Shipment
The proof of shipment accepted by us as set out within the “proof of shipment” section within the “Manage customer concerns” page of our website.
What is proof of shipment?
At the very least, your documentation must include the date the item was sent, plus one of:
An official acceptance by the shipper, such as a postmark or online status (status that shows the item was delivered is also acceptable),
The bolded part seems to suggest that any online tracking (e.g. regular parcel) should be covered by PayPal. Because tracking is "Online status." It'll be interesting to see if anyone actually does have a claim on a regular parcel after April 8 (with no added features) and what the result is. Maybe someone already has but I'm too lazy to look through every post. Alot of great info here and thanks to all posters. 🙂

Did the receipt also have the postcode of the recipient?
If so, it should qualify. Paypals terms were amended a while back to include a post ofice receipt with the recipients postcode as sufficient proof for seller protection. I''m sure somone will come along soon with a link to the terms just to be sure.
My receipt just had a list of tracking numbers and no way to determine which number went with which parcel 😐

Ask your post office to punch them in - sure they will be delighted 😐

Punch: Satchels and prepaid boxes can be processed and paid for at home and then dropped into street posting boxes, most of mine are too big for that service so they have to go into the PO to be weighed and measured before I pay for them.
I usually lodge satchels over the counter too, but I'm in the PO anyway so its no big deal for me.
I have another question, I still got bulk stock of old A4 standard sized envelopes for sending magazines, can these be used for C&S? would C&S supply stickers for them..or do you have to buy their prepaid envelopes?
also, i have no idea how C&S works as yet, on recent sales i saw "add tracking number" on my sold items, i assume you'd need to register an online C&S account and add the buyers details on their too? Thanx

You dont have to take to PO for scanning, but if you just pop in street box and it gets lost before scanned (usually at delivery center) or if it misses getting scanned you have no proof of shipping. Doing it at PO just ensures it is scanned.
I just want to offer a C&S service, which could mean more sales due to it being cheaper too, and might prevent any shonky buyers from making any false claims.

Ok, so I just lodged an article at the PO with Parcel Post and SOD. This is what I got:
Online TaT atm (feel free to look it up):
63310336154063
So, you'll see exactly what you and the customer will now see. It's not your C&S account.
The receipt for this shows the following:
Australia Post
Post Office Name - Post Code
Parcel Post - Cost $6.95
Article ID
63310336154063
PP SoD LBL x1 $2.95
Total
Cash tendered
Change
GST etc
ABN Tax Invoice etc
(Myself and the PO lady lol'd hard at the next part when we were inspecting the receipt):
'Use Registered Post if extra cover against loss or damage is required'
Date - some codes - time
Advertising about new parcels and tracking
The helpful lady then stuck the senders copy of the parcel post label on the back of my receipt.

I hope eBay/Paypal Australia come out and make a definitive statement as to what the heck kid of proof of delivery they'll accept now.... I'm hesitant to list or post anything until they do.
Hint: LOSS OF REVENUE, EBAY AND PAYPAL....

You only have to provide proof of postage for Paypal, as Viewmont detailed quite well. It might well be different for AP claims, but PP is the one most people are concerned with.

When you register for click and send, you link it to your ebay account so the buyers details are automatically filled in for the postage and the tracking number is automatically added to your ebay sales.
Not sure about the A4 envelopes, they may not meet the dimension criteria for a parcel, if they fit into a satchel it might be cheaper to do that.
