@5kazam wrote:Okay, I accept the first part of your comment.
However, I don't accept the second part.
One thing to have your parcel being dropped from 1 metre to check if it bounces or breaks.
Quite another to have 22kg dropped from one metre onto your parcel. It certainly wouldn't bounce and would probably break. I wouldn't consider that to be a fair gauge of appropriate packaging.
What dd the 'Tip' say : 'articles should withstand a drop of 1 metre'.... nothing about withstanding a drop of 1 metre by another parcel onto your/my article.
Agree.
Two different scenarios altogether.
Size and shape of parcels will also play into effect at point(s) of impact with another.
BUT I think many are aware that parcels of all sizes are collected sorted & freighted together so I think one must expect that in this process there may indeed be a parcel of 22kg dropped onto another parcel from a drop of 1 metre.

hi lets see imastawka , the diference of a package being hit by something that weighs the same.lets see take a doona made from feathers for instance and open it up flat , lets say it weighs 2kg now get some people to drop it a meter over your head , no big deal ,prob mess up your hair , now get a brick weighing 2 kg and drop it over your head from a meter away , and you would be posting from a hospital bed , or not posting ever again . mmmmm

This thread has turned into a scientific discussion about mass, gravity, velocity and inertia.

Stalks, look at it this way - if you dropped yourself on a doona you would flatten it, conversely if someone dropped the doona on you you'd fall asleep.

To joe and padi - we're not talking about my head!
We're talking about parcel drops. 22 kgs is still 22kgs.
And 22 kgs of feathers is still gunna give you a headache.
If you post a cup and saucer and don't wrap it properly,
22 kgs of feathers is still gunna smash it
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM????????
