Bad Buyers Supported By Ebay System

This buyer is not too smart, but the Ebay still allows her to steal from sellers, use multiple accounts to get around blocks and to leave malicious feedback with those multiple accounts, in oder to harm sellers that do not do exactly what she wants them to ...

Buyer pretended not to receive item. She admitted in emails to us that she was not recieving items from other sellers as well.

We resent the item.

The second time, she said that she had received it. Nevertheless, from our correspondance, I suspected that she was one of these buyers, that will keep buying ... paying for some items and not receiving others, so she always gets at least some freebies from sellers. We blocked her. She then used another account to get around the block and purchased more of the same item ...

We said that she was not allowed to do that, and that she should have emailed us regarding the block. We also said that we would still be prepared to post the item, but that due to her 'experiences' of not receiving items [from numerous sellers], that we felt that it would be best if she paid the 3.50 for Registered Post. WELL, ... that changed things completely ... she didn't want that!

So, ... she refused to pay. Rather than us opening an Unpaid Item Case, where she could have then just paid [with the post not registered], and pretend not to receive the item again, ... we chose to cancel the transaction and she agreed to do that ... BUT

She waited a month and then came back and left 2 Negative Feedbacks under the two accounts that she had used with/ on us.

It took around 1 1/2 hours with Ebay staff on the phone, to understand that she had 2 accounts. While it was obvious to us, we were still required to prove everything we said, and back up our claims through evidence on our site, which we did. We did all the work as the staff we spoke with, appeared unable to investigate and said "I will call you in 24 hours", which, ... they never do.

The result was that Ebay would only remove one of her Neg feedbacks, not the other one ... because, ...they felt that she had only been malicious on the second account and not the first ... In the past, when a buyer used multiple IDs to scam sellers, get around blocks and leave Negs. [This buyer actually left two dots as revenge ...,] Ebay would simply recognise a problem buyer from the evidence and remove the feedback altogether. But Ebay staff in the Philippines go by their hearts or what feels right ...

We actually told Ebay to just reinstate the one Neg Feedback that they removed. We want it to stay there to warn other sellers.

I enjoy selling and buying on Ebay. I'm a seller and a buyer. It's simple for me. But Ebay is not so simple. It's complex and most of our Negs are from scammers who didn't get their own way [usually regarding free items], mentally ill  ... recently a satanist ... so, it has little to nothing to do with our selling ability or performance. All this system is teaching us as a seller, ... is that Ebay supports dishonest people with psychologicasl problems ... When I say mentally ill ... I mean seriously so ... Paypal suggested we call the police on one buyer, after what we were out through for a week. We didn't think that necessary though 🙂 and did the best we could to do what the buyer wanted in cancellation after she became paranoid ... but again, that buyer was allowed to leave us NEG [where she lied since she was delusional], and when we attempted to warn others about her, in our reply, she called Ebay, and they removed our reply, saying that did not want us upsetting the buyer. Never mind that I have a family to feed and bills to pay.

A supervisor at Ebay admitted over the phone that 'the mentally ill' are doing very well in the resolution centres at the moment."

It's got to the point now where I won't cancel for any reason. Also please leave their ID in the feedback reply so other sellers can look at it and if needed they can block them.

eBay needs to block buyers who bid on the same item from multiple sellers and then don't pay for the ones they win except the cheapest one.

Is the a page here where we can list the bad buyers.

Maybe we start a Facebook page for bad eBay buyers.

It did not hppen 5 years ago so what makes you think it will happen now.

You cannot name and shame on the boards....it can lead to your suspension if you keep on doing it.

You could try a list on facebook but I suspect it will not last long.

Why?

Firstly, you could have some of those buyers very angry if they find their names there. A 'bad buyer' might be a matter of opinion. I'd say they would complain and the site would be taken down.

But honestly, I think most sellers could not be bothered looking through a long list of names to add to their blocked list, based on no real personal knowledge of what happened. Who has the time to investigate each name? I'd guess most sellers would rather just have their normal blocks in place and take their chances.

I'm a buyer these days but if you reverse the idea-if there existed a 'bad sellers' facebook site, I wouldn't bother looking or recordng names, I'd rather check feedback and history of a seller only if they have something I might buy.

I'd be upset if a vintage / antique bottle I'd purchased arrived broken.

Try packing them a lot better in future

Insurance doesn't cover disappointment.

Board policy doesn't allow naming and shaming BTW.

The name will be removed.

Bad seller, more like it.

It is up to you to ensure the item is packed sufficiently.

Why is the buyer a moron for wanting to get what he bought in one piece?

And why would he try to claim on YOUR insurance, when it is London to a brick that the claim would be rejected by Australia Post. Part of their determination is whether or not the item was sufficiently packaged, which it demonstrably wasn't.

For future reference, a parcel needs to be able to withstand 22kg dropped on it from waist height.

I seen this metric used several times on this forum, can you please provide a reference.  The Auspost Domestic Post Parcels Guide October 2019 P6.3.4 Australian Post Packaging Materials only states that

"The payment of a compensation or Extra Cover claim for a parcel may depend on the use of adequate packaging. The range of Australia Post packaging products is approved as adequate packaging. For the range and prices, refer to the Post charges booklet (8833665) or the current Australia Post Stationery & Mailing Supplies Catalogue.Australia Post may refuse to accept a parcel, even if the sender uses an Australia Post packaging product, if:•the packaging product is inappropriate to its contents and is used or fastened incorrectly•the packaging product has been used previously and may no longer be adequate for sending articles•the contents are fragile – such as fine glassware, clay figures, soapstone, or alabaster – and are inadequately protected by sufficient internal shock-absorbing material, such as bubble-wrap and is not secure within packaging that would prevent damage•the contents are likely to perish or become physically offensive during the ordinary course of carriage•Australia Post has specific packaging requirements for the contents – such as liquids, poisons, and so on – and the sender has not met these requirements"

No mention of 22kg or dropping from waist height.

It's anecdotal. The maximum weight of AP parcels is 22kg. I doubt the average AP employee is going to be super careful about stacking parcels. Especially when there will be several of them handling a parcel on its journey. Not to mention the automated sorting lines, which I imagine just drop parcels off the end.

A good rule of thumb to use, however.

The mention of fragile items (AP specifically doesn't provide a fragile service), and the requirements attendant thereto would tend to indicate that anything arriving smashed will be deemed to be inadequately packed.

I don't know how the bumper packaged the item, but the bare minimum recommended by sellers here is for the item to be double-boxed, with sufficient packing that there is a maximum of shock absorption and a minimum of airgap.

I've heard that unless there are tyre tracks on the packaging, AP won't pay out. And if it's over $50, they will only pay the cost, not sale, price.

Either way, I don't consider the buyer to be a moron for expecting to get the item in advertised, one-piece, condition.
