I have submitted a complaint about a buyer who did not pay or pick up item. I have heard nothing? I am also unable to leave negative feedback on this buyer. The case is still showing as open. I have now read other reviews on this buyer and they are not good. Shame I didnt read them before. Surely this buyer should be banned from Ebay?

If you haven't done so already file a NPB dispute - You will get your fees back and the bad buyer will get a strike. Three strikes you're out.

There should have been nothing to read. It is against ebay policy to leave positive feedback with nagative comments so why would I have more faith in sellers who think it is alright to breach the rules when it suits them than in a buyer who doesn't pay? Perhaps those sellers breached other rules and the buyer had good reason not to pay!
If you open an unpaid item dispute after 4 days and close it 4 days later you get your fvfs back and the buyer gets a strike. You have the ability to block members with more than one unpaid item strike in the last 12 months from buying from you so if two of those other sellers had gone through the process and you had appied the block they would not have been able to bid in the first place.
with pick up items if I haven't heard from the buyer within 3 days of sending them my phone number I pull their contact details and give them a call.

FYI OP it is not against ebay policy to leave feedback for a non-payer - you may receive a policy violation if the comment is sufficiently negative enough to warrant removal if the sales contract-breaking, ebay payment policy breaching non-payer contacts ebay to request removal.
Please be clear I am not encouraging you to leave any feedback for a non-payer at all, let alone a negative comment that may jeopordise your ebay account - just correcting a number of errors in relation to the actual policy that is in place as I see it.

Perhaps reading a sellers feedback left for others would be the go, before breaching a sales contract on this basis by not paying.
Even "jokingly" defending non-payers on this basis is really quite disturbing IMO.

So if a buyer comes here with a question about a transaction and we can see that it is a scam we shouldn't tell the buyer not to pay?

By advising the buyer not to pay you are discouraging another member to use the ebay service and encouraging an ebay
member to breach the ebay user agreement by advising them after bidding/ commiting to a purchase to defer payment..............
If you are prepared to advise others to breach these policies then what chance you are also breaching other policies that you do
not agree with???

You appear to be attempting to side track and deflect attention from your other comment.
Trying to link in scammers somehow to sellers that leave feedback comment for a non-paying buyer is a disturbing link to make, IMO.

apart from that, scams don't happen in eBayland . eBay have made it clear that they don't want members discussing such actions/allegations or alerting other members of same. To do so is failure to follow the directions of staff and further breaches eBay Policy, possibly resulting in penalizing actions. So it's probably best to discourage people from, or at least not become actively involved in, breaching eBay Policy.

Isn't it ebay policy that if you won an auction for a pick-up item, you should view the item then pay if happy with it. If you are not happy with item just walk away? Sounds similar to this situation.
