Buyer claiming item not delivered

Hi,

I've recently sold an item and and posted it on the 9th of Sept, and according to Australia Post's tracking it has been delivered on the 12th. I've provided the seller with the tracking number and informed him what I know. Now he has contacted me saying it wasn't delivered on the 12th.

I'm curious what my options are now, should I inform him to contact Aus Post? Also, can he claim a refund through Paypal or something along those lines (I still have the receipt for posting the item too)?

Thanks.

agree with the cat..... YOU should open an investigation with Aust Post for 'missing parcel' too.

your obligations are NOT cancelled when a buyer declines to use Registered POst (but registered post is no longer available, it is Signature on Delivery now and YES it is for YOUR protection, not the buyers, he has Paypal protection)

Have to disagree there, the buyer is only eligible for the Buyer Protection Policy if -

S10.1(l) The seller has not provided valid Proof of Shipment in relation to an โ€œitem not receivedโ€ claim https://cms.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/BuyerProtection_ful...

As the seller has Proof of Shipment in this case then the buyer will lose an INR claim.

Re: Buyer claiming item not delivered

Keep in mind delivery centre may not be in same suburb as delivery address, that is why sometimes it looks like it has gone to wrong suburb. Delivery centre is not their local PO.

valuable items are best sent sign for whether buyer opts for it or not as it saves a lot of squabbling.

Buyer scamming/stolen after delivery/left at wrong address, it could be any you wont know.

Re: Buyer claiming item not delivered

  • I had an item from amazon read as delivered on the tracking (needs to be signed for) and I haven't recieved it, then today when I check an item that was ment to be delivered on the same day as the amazon pne it also reads as delivered. Tomorrow I am going to take the post office to task, This has only happened once before. Aus post said it was signed for I said not possable then they said it went to the wrong address. I asked for an investigation and it then turned up about a week later. I believe there may be some dishonest people out there but sometimes I think it's aus post not doing there job.
