Buyer continuously msging re:item not received but well after 60 days

Hi,

Seeking advice - I have a buyer who is saying they have not received their item some 60+ days after it was posted. They are continuing to message me through ebay regarding their item but didnt even raise the issue until well outside the 45 days to make a claim or raise an issue through the normal methods.

I have a copy of their receipt posted on 11th Dec (they paid standard international airmail, non trackable), a picture of the item all wrapped up at the post office the day it was sent and all other items on that receipt have been received all around the world but theirs allegedly.

What do I do?

Well, they cannot leave you FB, they cannot claim on PP; unless they funded their payment with their CC and their bank will do chargeback.  It really depends on what you want to do.

Is the buyer also in Australia?  I personally would be nice to them but tell them that to be able to report the parcel missing, AP would have to have notified you within 30 days of it being posted, as they waited so long, there is nothing that can be done.

Was it much money?

Was the parcel sent to the US?

If it was I had several parcels from around that time going to the US which disappeared into thin air.

The item was posted from Aus to the Russian Federation......... It is under $100 but they have been on ebay a while (eg not new, not a first time buyer) and yet they have waited soooooooo long?!?!?! It doesnt make sense. I have never had an item go missing - ever.

Even if I go into the Paypal log there is now no longer an option to refund through the original listing either.

The first I hear of ANY issue regarding this item is some 2+ months since the original sale

woochar - I had a fully insured parcel posted to the Russian Federation on the 24th December disappear into thin air.

Up until December last year I had only had one international parcel go astray but last December was an nightmare for International Parcels and several went missing.

After three months you can lodge a missing parcel claim through Australia Post - not that they will probably be able to do anything if it wasn't insured or registered.

Email a scan of the receipt and then hit the delete button when one comes in. IF they initiated a Paypal claim you were screwed, as Registered Post International is the method outlined in the User Agreement. For $1000 jackets it costs me around AU$80 to ship but worth it in case they make a claim. Two times since 2008. One was a fraudulent claim from China. The other a Return to Sender from France after the buyer changed his mind. I NEVER ship to FRANCE or ITALY now, as their postal services are useless. I might add Russia.. Good luck with it..

I have emailed them an image of their receipt and the item all packaged up and addressed at the post office.

Ive been polite with each reply but it is starting to wear a little thin ๐Ÿ˜ž

For a $50 item he didnt want to pay the $19 registered post so it was sent standard airmail. I do understand the user agreement and that I would have had to pay had he initiated a claim within the required timeframe..

That you kept the receipt and forwarded it, and you have afforded a considerable amount of your time and patience with it. I think you have done enough. Karma saw you through this one. Chances are it is there and you might be getting duped? Rest! Relax!..you've done enough!

If the buyer paid using a credit card they may still have the option of lodging a chargeback through their credit card company which you would be unable to defend.
