I stupidly sent off the item before the buyer had payed.
Now I've had to start an unpayed item case. If the buyer still refuses to pay, how's it going to pan out? Will I lose the item and my money ($455.00)?

Bit of an update:
Buyer has gone through checkout and marked it as "Payment sent" by direct deposit.
Four business days have elapsed and still no sign of payment in my account. Should be plenty for EFT, I would have thought.
I've sent two emails to buyer asking for payment details, as usual, no response.
Seems to me that buyer is trying to avoid a non payment strike by seeming to pay, while in reality simply toying with me.
The worst of it is, because he went through checkout ebay believes the item to be payed for even though I'm unlikely to see a cent. I'll be out of pocket for the fees, lost my item and my dough.
This, and I need to vent now, pathetic excuse for a human being has caused me considerable anguish but will continue to trade on ebay unscathed. I can't even leave negative feedback to warn the rest of the community.
How's this fair ebay?

The only payment accepted by ebay is a paypal payment....they will not close a dispute because a buyer has marked it as paid.
The only time a dispute is automtically closed is when the buyer pays by paypal.

I've had buyers do exactly the same thing (essentially pretend that they've paid via bank deposit), but it won't affect whether you can open and close a UPI dispute, so I'd do that now since it can't be closed for a FVF credit for another 4 days. If the option doesn't appear in the dropdown menu, just go directly to the resolution centre and use the item number to bring up the transaction details, it should let you open the case without a problem.

In the "Totals" column on my "All Selling" page it shows that payment has been made and that I'm owed $00.00.
Surely that indicates that ebay believe the payment to be made?
Shouldn't it show that I'm still owed the payment until I mark it as payment received?
Sorry to seem thick about all this but I'm becoming a little distraught, this is, to me a considerable sum of money and would go a long way to helping me with the rent.

Anyone can say that they have made a payment but until you receive it then there is no payment, this buyer is playing games with you.
$455 I would be livered if someone stole that amount from me it's just highway robbery!

Ebay does not mark anything as paid....the buyer has done it and it proves nothing. Have you tried unmarking the Payent button?
The only time ebay recognises that payment has been made is if the buyer pays through paypal...then the item will be marked as paid and you cannot open a dispute.
