An idiotic buyer bought one of my items today without reading the description. I clearly stated *PayPal Only*, but they insisted on paying with bank deposit. I'm furious
I denied this, and now I'm left with a whooping $19 in seller fees. I opened a case to close the transaction, but it seems the buyer is evading and ignoring it. I have a strong feeling that this buyer is a scammer due to their low feedback, and only being an account for a few days.
I'm wondering if there is a way to get these fees revoked. I refuse to pay $19 to ebay just because of a non-paying, possibly scamming bidder.

I sent them a "friendly" message.
And yes, you are being very, very "nosey".

Would still like to know how this buyer iwould be able to scam the seller, if they were able to pay by bank deposit.

Why don't you do what I did when I had a new to eBay buyer? She wanted to pay by PayPal, so she could have the buyer protection, but wasn't sure how to go about paying that way. I took her through both the options, paying as a guest, or setting up an account. She was extremely grateful and has now bought quite a few things off me. I guess that's being too nosey though, hey.
Sometimes new buyers just need a bit of a hand in the early days. Not all low feedback buyers are scammers. Given that you still have a low feedback score, I wouldn't exactly call you a seasoned eBayer, so who are you to say someone is a scammer? Sorry, that's probably being nosey.
How can they possibly scam you buy paying via direct deposit? Is that being too nosey too?

@am*3 wrote:Not nosey. There are two parties involved in the sale. The seller and a buyer. The buyer is being called a scammer by the seller, with no proof that is true. They buyer is being called an idiot as well. When it could all be a simple misunderstanding from a new to eBay buyer. I bet the buyer wasn't sent a friendly message informing them they can't pay by bank deposit.
If you can't give the OP the benefit of the doubt that they are just frustrated about a buyer who has not read a listing description payment terms then at least be less hostile and stop defending an unnamed, unidentified buyer and nosey regarding the preferences the OP has determined.
IMO it is up to EVERY seller to determine their own payment terms and if they want to VENT on the discussion boards that is surely a part of the boards purpose. The OP is doing so within the rules, and your posts are most unhelpful in getting any potential solution considered and implemented. You are just demonstrating how out-of-touch with reality and unwelcoming regular posters advice can be.
A buyer that does not read a description can be considered a idiot - I've done it myself as a buyer - what a stupid thing I did, I am acting like a idiot on those occasions

>so who are you to say someone is a scammer?
And who are you to judge other peoples opinions/views based on a feedback score? Are you implying just because I have a "low" feedback score I cannot tell who and who isn't a scammer? I wouldn't say your feedback is "high" either, missy.
Also it seems you have failed to realise that I don't have a bank account. Maybe you should've read the posts above you before telling me off.

Hello, everyone. This discussion is getting a little heated. Could we please communicate with a more civil tone. Thanks!

Surely if you don't have a bank account you have a close friend or relative who has one so you could give them their details. Of course if you have Paypal onky the buyer should abide by that but I go out of my way to help people pay, by any method they want, as a bit of help often leads to a repeat customer and a repeat customer who pays by bank deposit is about as good as it gets lol.

And now we have PJ advocating for buyers that don't read descriptions -
