Buyer opened item not received dispute on a pick up only item?

What do I do when a buyer purchases my item that is pick up only, who emails to say they will organise a courier and then opens a dispute because they have ben too busy to do this? What are my rights in this situation? I have emailed again with dates and times I am home and heard nothing again. I will not be refunding as this item has been relisted due to another buyer winning the item then arguing about it being pickup when it states quite clearly that it is PU only.

Yet again, looks like you & I will have to agree to disagree as this was in OP

Re: Buyer opened item not received dispute on a pick up only item?

Yes but that quote is in connection with the first transaction.

That is the first transaction failed because the buyer refused to pay and pick it up.  In this instance it appears the seller decided to cut their losses and simply relist, and as such I would agree this buyer should have been reported as a non paying bidder.

In the second transaction, the buyer has paid for goods,  but seemed to be somewhat tardy in picking it up, and now appears to have decided they don’t want it, and to get out to the transaction have decide to file an item not received dispute.

Now in these circumstance the seller has two options.  They can let this second  buyer of the hook by refunding and relisting  for a third time, or they can say – No. No I’m not giving you a refund.   You bid on it, you won it, you paid for it, you pick it up.

Write them a real letter, if you can remember how to use a pen and paper lol, telling them that they have 7 days to arrange for the item to be collected and if it is not then you will charge storage at $XX a day until the purchase price is used up and then you will re sell the item and should it sell for more than the cost of storage and all fees you will send them the difference.

Personally if it were me I would have just asked for their bank details and refunded them straight away so I could relist.

I would relist with freight as the only delivery option and Paypal and cash on pick up as the only payment options. That way of they want it delivered you can get a quote for pack & send's most expensive service, add a hefty handling fee and then invoice them.

They only have two choices then, pay for the expensive delivery or come themselves or send somebody else to pay cash on collection.

wow, think I wont be returning to these boards. I am an honest seller and buyer as is reflected in my feedback. I have been stuffed around quite a bit by pick up only items lately, where people either don't read the listing properly or ignore it and then hassle me later to change my terms. Every time I try to be flexible and have copped abuse, non payers, also copped a neutral for bending over backwards for a buyer who didn't read the terms of sale properly. Being a reasonable person, I just copped it and relisted the item (triton work bench which is not the item in question). I think I am within my rights to say, you bid, you won so you are obliged to pick it up according to the terms listed on the item.

Thanks to those who were helpful and offered constructive advice. The matter has been resolved and the buyer will be arranging collection next week.
