Hi there,
I need some advice please?
I have sold 9kg of magazines that were listed as pick up only.
Buyer who won wants shipping as they are living 2 hours away.
They also prefer to be delivered between 8.30 and 5pm which I cannot ensure will happen.
The cheapest way to send is 2 x 5kg satchels the postmaster told me. Without courier (which is more expensive) I cannot ensure estimated delivery time which wil be a further expense.
This is all for $15 of magazines.
I have told them all this and that as the item was pick up I can only offer pick up at the moment.
Also ebay won't let me add on postal charges as it was a pick up only item and I want to stay within ebay rules otherwise it all becomes dodgy which I don't want.
I also don't want to cause any angst between seller and buyer and receive a negative.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you

at the post office they have the B4 flat rate box which takes up to 15kg, the price to post with click & send is $15.05 plus about $3 odd for the box which is a lot cheaper than 2 x 5kg satchels, maybe if you asked at the p.o. about them
you can put about 60 little golden books in the box so you could maybe get 50 magazines in if they were'nt too thick

OP rkw is right, if you aren't registered for click and send, you will find it on the Australia post website, you can pay and print your labels ready to post. The B4 box is a good idea, you will have to get that at your PO, you will also need the B4 box code when you put it through click and send - the code is the last 5 digits under the barcode on the box.
Hope that helps.
And no you can't guarantee that AP will deliver between those times. In fact they will most likely be carded and have to pick up the box at their PO.
Good luck!

even if the OP cant or wont get a B4 box and post with click & send surely an ordinary carboard box from Coles or Woolies would be cheaper than 2 x 5kg satchels, its a wonder the P.O. person didnt suggest that

If you want to add the postage charge to the invoice just enter the amount and DO NOT click on the 'recalculate' button - that will only reset the amount to zero. You can preview the invoice and then send.

I don't blame the buyer for wanting them posted, you only offer Paypal as a payment method so without delivery added to the invoice the buyer would have no buyer protection if they paid then arrived to collect and found they were not as described.

If that is the largest AP box then it has a cubed weight of 8kg so depending on the location of the seller you wont be able to put more than 12kgs of weight in the box.

Payment on pickup is just that and buyers are able to refuse payment at that time if items are not as described so where is the problem phorum junkie? I often have this on my listings and always make sure the buyer is happy before it leaves my house. The buyer may have worked out that the cost of petrol would be more than the postage ,given how much petrol has risen in recent times , or may not now have the time available to make the journey. Surely this is up to the buyer and seller to come to a mutual agreement - if it is a hassle for a $15 sale that is the sellers problem - at least it was a sale !
