Buyers being pushy

I posted a CD today, but because I live out of town, I allow 1-3 working days for items to be posted and is clearly stated in the listing

I had one email me tonight asking if their CD was sent as they said they paid a few days ago (They actually only paid saturday night by PayPal). Do they think all Australia Post outlets are open on Sundays? CD was posted at 9am this morning as soon their doors opened, I can't post it faster than that.

Maybe next time I will deliberately make them wait the 3 days before I post it

No, you just need to get used to it and decide on a professional response.

Remember - you are catering to the absolute lowest common denominator of human beings when you sell online. Some of these people are so clueless, they cannot drive a car, let alone post something! They probably know much more about the inside of a Centrelink office than a Post Office. :^O

So, maybe just reply with

Hi, thanks for your message. I understand that you might be concerned about the inconveniently long delay. I am sure yo remember that you only paid me on Saturday night, and whilst I camped outside the whole day on Sunday so I was first in line, they still wouldn't let me inside the Post Office until 9:00am Monday morning (today).

This was only necessary because my normal delivery pigeon was molested by a rabid kookaburra, otherwise you would have heard his pecking on your window sometime on Sunday morning.

Always remember that we aim to please. Don't forget to mark down my postage DSR stars, and spend a few moments to think up a decently obtuse reason to give me Negative Feedback.

Kind regards, your dutiful seller.

or...you could appreciate the fact your buyer has put money in your pocket instead of buying from a B&M store or another seller and treat him or her with a modicum of gratitude and respect by replying courteously.

Certainly hope no buyers read that one  the3coopers, very inflamatory, I both buy and sell here and have been doing so for over 10 years, new to the boards, but never have I imagined such a thing would be crossing a sellers mind as your post suggests.

I agree coops, some buyers should not be allowed to sit in front of a computer they so clueless.

I had a buyer who purchased an item and then failed to communicate or pay for 5 days, even after a gentle reminder on day 4. I suspected they wern't going to follow through with the transaction and would commence a UPI on day 7.

On day 5 which was a Friday they paid with Paypal, it was late in the afternoon so I couldn't post it until Monday morning and sent them a message thanking them for their payment and explaining I couldn't post until Monday morning, no response to my message, but they instantly left me positive feedback, before they even got the item!!

On Monday morning at 9.01am I get this very abusive message from the buyer demanding why the item hasn't been marked as posted when I promised it would be. He was calling me a scammer and a thief and he will call the police if I don't give him his money back.

I replied with an explanation and informed him what time the post office opened and how rude and impatient he was being considering he kept me waiting for payment. He would have none of it and sent me another abusive message,

I had had enough by then and decided not to post the item as I could foresee further issues with this nut case. I cut off all comms with him and waited for the inevitable Paypal dispute, he couldn't neg me as he had already left me a positive and I wasn't going to refund him voluntarily, I would keep his money for as long as it took.

40 days later with not a single word from this guy and no dispute opened I decided to post the item and see what eventuates, I tracked it and it was received and signed for.

I still haven't heard back from him, that was 4 months ago.

I did'nt leave feedback for him, he didn't deserve any.
Blocked and forgotten, that's my take on it.
